Sometimes I like to pretend that I'm good at writing.

Princess Celestia is the loving ruler of the peaceful land of Equestria, along with her dear younger sister, Princess Luna.

But, a long time ago, few ponies even knew that Princess Luna had existed. It was just Princess Celestia, way back then, and nopony thought anything of it, until one of her students slowly put the pieces together and wrote down her findings.

Now, nearly six hundred years later, Twilight Sparkle finds the diary of that one faithful student who saw past the Princess's facade and taught her teacher a lesson, herself.

6387996 No, the meeting is real.

6388138 Shhhh, I gotta catch my ideas as they come.

6388991 What's DD? Also why did the meeting stop there.

6389025 DD is Darkest Darkness, another story in development by me but not open to the public. The meeting isn't over, they just took a break.

6389265 The meeting is the underlying story, and will continue, but I felt that it was time to start into Golden Crescent's story.

6389393 Is it related to changelings?

6389465 Golden Crescent's story has nothing to do with Changelings, but the underlying story, the meeting between the nations, does.

6389493 Oh. I wonder how you will connect them.

6389812 Hmmm do you have any hint on when the next update will be?

6389990 Nope. I have no schedule and fluctuating motivation. Could be today, could be in a month.

6390376 Oki doki loki! Eagerly awaiting.

Twilight is such a sleepy Princess... It seems to be the main new trait she got from the job, both on the show and here. I can't complain, as it's pretty adorkable... As Twilight should be!

Some fun characterization in this, and a really nice leisurely set up so far! I'm enjoying it and look forward to more.

Nice....please do continue

I was wondering about the tiny text...

Hmm, interesting so far. For a moment I thought Golden Crescent would be Chrysalis or her ancestor (dunno if you're headcanon makes it do that Chrysalis is like the princesses, an immortal ruler, or just a long-lived one and there were other queens before her) in disguise.

One note, in one of the dialogues someone refers to Celestia as Clestia.

6466417 Fixed the typo, thanks for pointing that out. Golden Crescent is very much a pony, and long since passed. Changeling Queens do live as long as alicorns but, again, Golden Crescent was a pony, pure and simple.

Still reading this chapter, but I like it so far.

One nitpick, though: do you absolutely have to put the letters in as images? I read fimfiction almost exclusively on my phone with a 5 inch full HD screen and while the site itself scales beautifully, text and all, images don't, so the letters are very hard to read. And their text version at the end doesn't help much since it's still a tiny font, albeit a bit easier to read than the letters themselves.

6466543 The letters are as images in order to utilize font, which in turn is used to help convey the feeling that you're reading something 600 years old. I didn't want to use the old calligraphy that even I can't read, but I know that calligraphy has changed dramatically over the years, so I figured that, in order to help convey the message that you're reading something old, I'd use cursive.

If you'd like, I can post the letters into pastebin, from now on, and include the link in the authors notes so that it's easier to read for mobile users?

6466432 Yeah, I've read the comments, so I know it can't be her.
6467620 Yeah, figured it was the font. And that solution would be perfect, yeah, mobile users will just be able to pop the letters open in a new tab then.

6467803 I've updated the authors notes for that chapter to include a link to plaintext and plain font versions of Golden Crescent's letters for that chapter. In the future, links to plaintexts and plain font versions of the letters will always be posted in the authors note sections.

Aww, it's a shame this never continued.

Truth be told, I've actually long since forgotten the original premise I had to tie in the subplot to the main plot.

I still love the idea of a past student of Celestia's learning about Princess Luna before her return (I think that's what I had going on?), writing her findings and trying to help her teacher forgive herself or something.

This story isn't on the top of my to-do list, unfortunately, so I likely won't revisit the concept to hammer any details out anytime soon.

Well, good luck with current stories.
