Chapter 4 - Meeting the other Twilight

*Joshua’s P.O.V*

As we headed toward the Golden Oaks Library to visit Mommy, well just Twilight in this universe, I couldn’t help but look over at Toby every once in a while. I couldn’t stop wondering why a daddy would be so cruel to his own son like Toby’s father was toward him before he came to Equestria. I felt bad for him after going through all that he went through, but he still treated those around him with great care and love.

My thoughts were interrupted when Fluttershy spoke up softly “Um… Joshua, I know that you said Nyx is your big sister in the universe where you come from… but who is Nyx actually… um, if that’s okay for me to ask?” She gave me a warm smile.

I returned the smile and nodded “It’s okay to ask Fluttershy,” I said as I took in a deep breath and exhaled deeply.

When I first came to Equestria, my Mommy wasn’t at home, but Nyx and Spike was. While we waited for Mommy to come, Nyx told me the story of how she came to be. She told me that Mommy once got kidnapped by a group of bad ponies who wanted to bring the evil Nightmare Moon back. They did get some of Mommy’s blood to bring her back, but Princess Celestia stopped them in time before they could fully do it.

Not having enough of Mommy’s blood caused something to happen in bring Nightmare Moon back, and she turned into a filly who would be Nyx After Mommy got better from her kidnapping, she decided to go back to the area where she was taken to and see what she could find out about that group of bad ponies. She couldn’t find anything, but she did find a young filly in the bushes near the area alone and hurt.

Mommy took the filly into her home, washed her up, got her wounds better, and then with time adopted her as her daughter. She then named her Nyx.

“Oh… my, that does sound like a tragic event happening to Twilight, but at least she met her daughter through it all.” Fluttershy gave me a warm smile as we soon arrived at the library.

*Fluttershy’s P.O.V*

When we arrived at the library, I reached a hoof up to knock on the door. “Coming,” we heard the voice of Twilight as soft hoof steps approached. The door opened in her usual lavender magical aura to reveal her standing in the doorway. “Well, hello every pony… oops… hehe… I mean everyone. Please come in,” she said with a warm smile on her face as she stepped aside to let us enter.

“Um… hello Twilight, I hope we aren’t disturbing you or interrupting you if you’re studying.” I lowered my head timidly.

“Of course not Fluttershy, you aren’t disturbing me. Besides, I’m just tidying up the library while Spike is away at Canterlot. Princess Celestia invited him to have lunch with her and Princess Luna and also to get him out of the library to give him some time to himself.” She gave a warm smile as she looked at Toby “And how is my favorite little nephew doing today?” She leaned her head down to nuzzle at his cheek.

Toby giggled at the nuzzle “I’m doing good Auntie Twilight.” I watched as he wrapped his little arms around her neck as she returned the hug, wrapping a foreleg around his back.

She smiled down at him “That is good to hear sweetheart,” she said softly, and then looked over at Joshua. “Oh, and who might this be?” She asked curiously.

Joshua stepped up beside me “Hello M--- I mean Twilight, my name is Joshua,” he said a little hesitantly. I think he wanted to call her Mommy, but he knew she wasn’t the Twilight from his home.

Twilight smiled warmly at him and nodded “Well, it is a pleasure to meet you Joshua. It certainly is weird though to see another human here besides Toby.” She raised an eyebrow and looked at Joshua curiously “If I may ask Joshua, how did you end up in Equestria in the first place?” She asked with a caring tone.

I looked at him as he was about to speak, but I gently placed a hoof on his shoulder “Um… Joshua, if it’s okay, could I explain to Twilight how you got here?” He gave me a light nod as I smiled warmly and turned to Twilight “Well… um… Twilight, it’s quite a long story.”

She grinned widely “Ooh, I love stories!” She said excitedly as she motioned us to trot over to the center of the library. She levitated pillows over for us to sit on and she beamed at me “Alright, I’m all ears!”

I nodded and started to tell Joshua’s story.

After a few minutes…

Twilight looked at Joshua with her eyes stung with tears “Oh you poor dear, I’m awfully sorry for what happened to your mommy and daddy.” She levitated a tissue over to wipe away her tears “Also, for being separated by your family like this, but I promise we’ll find a way to get you back, okay?” She gave him a reassuring smile.

Joshua nodded and gave her a light smile “Okay Twilight, thank you.” He got up and went over to hug her around her neck and she returned the hug.

“You’re very welcome dear. Now, while I look in my books to search for a spell maybe to get you back to your home and time Joshua, how about you three go visit our friends? I’m sure they would like to see their little nephew and his new friend.” She gave Toby and Joshua a blushing smile.

I nodded “Um… we were just going to do that after we came to see you Twilight.” I let out a small giggle as I stood up from my pillow. I looked down at Toby and over at Joshua “Are you two ready to go see the others?”

“Yes!” They replied in unison. We went over to the door, and before we left we waved at Twilight.

“See you all later.” She waved a wing at us as we exited the library.

I looked at the two boys “Where should we go first?” I asked with a warm smile.

Toby looked up at me with a big smile “I know Momma, how about we go see Auntie Pinkie first? I know she will be happy to meet Joshua.” He let out a giggle as well did Joshua, and then I joined in.

I nodded “That sounds like a good idea honey. How does that sound to you Joshua?” I looked at him curiously.

He nodded “Sounds good to me. It would be interesting to see how the Pinkie Pie acts in this Equestria apart from the Pinkie Pie in my home.” He smiled at me softly and all three of us made our way to the Sugarcube Corner.

As we walked toward the sweet shop I couldn’t help but think to myself. I hope Twilight will be able to figure out a way to get Joshua back to his home. I can just imagine how the Twilight, his Mommy is feeling without him there. I felt very sad when Toby wasn’t with me when he was kidnapped by that big dumb meanie Queen Chrysalis. I sighed softly as we continued on.
