Green Hills

The name's Green Hills (AKA VDH95), and welcome to my account~

T

They taught me how to put that uniform on... I just can't get it off...

Nopony knows where this human came from, or why it is here. But to Princess Cadance and the Elements of Harmony, it is a quite a surprise to her to see this silent creature that was once to be thought just a myth.

But, to US Navy SEAL "Lucky", the now lone survivor struggles to endure the loss of his brothers, as well as figuring out what to do in this strange world that has once never lived in war for generations.

Damn... the present tense threw me off a bit, but this is definitely a good tearjerker. Nice work. :fluttercry:

Good job and may God bless those who lay down their lives for our freedom.

this was pretty good:rainbowwild: nah this was AMAZINGSPECTACULARAWESOMENESS:pinkiehappy:

I am so proud of our troops.:fluttercry::pinkiesad2: This is a good story and i hope to see more of it.

awwesome story i feel bad about the Navy Seals friends though. But hopefully with this he makes new friends and things get better for hem :twilightsmile::moustache:

I haven't read this yet, however, I plan on joining the Air Force after I get at least four years of college done (Majoring in Software Programming) I am currently a senior in high school, and have been in JROTC for 3 years.

and I doubt anyone here cares.

I can't stop crying, the only reason I can't is because, my dad's a seal, not a modern day one but a old one. And on Veterans Day, he could only stare. I knew why I just didn't want to ask him, I was scared he still has his uniform on. :fluttercry:

3493407 good luck and let god be at your side.

thanks, It'll be difficult for me though, being Bipolar with anxiety and depression, I might not even be able to JOIN the military.

Wow.... this is just amazing.

3493407
We wish you the best of luck :pinkiehappy: Stay safe for all of us.

People like your dad I give full respect to. I have two neighbors who are both WWII vets; one who served in Europe and the other in the Pacific. If you ever see your dad, just tell him you love him. Just that will make him happy. Give your dad our greatest respects.

quite a few grammatical errors in this one. the message, however, is not lost. work on your grammar a bit, and im sure you will become a stupendous writer my friend. it would also be nice if you could continue the story. id like to know what happens after this.

3493629

thanks. I still have about 5 years before I finish college and high school, so I'm content for now.

Once I graduate, I'm becoming a Marine, well, at least hoping to anyway.

This is good... this is very good.

*removes hat and closes eyes*

RIP to all those who died for our freedom, and to the innocence of those who returned alive, but not whole.

I cannot pretend to understand what war is like. How do we comprehend something so terrible that it breaks the souls of the strongest person? How can we even begin to understand their suffering?

All we can do is offer our thanks, and our support. Not our pity- I doubt they want that. Only when they know that their sacrifice was not in vain, can they begin to heal.

From the bottom of my heart, I'd like to thank all our veterans out there. Maybe you never see this- or maybe you just don't care what a faceless brony on the internet has to say to you. But I'm thanking you nonetheless.

May your uncountable sacrifices never be forgotten.

I pledge allegiance, to the flag,
Of the United States of America...

It is well that war is so terrible thing, lest we grow too fond of it.
Robert E. Lee

Thank you for writing this. Really.

My thoughts go out to those who serve and have served in the armed forces. Especially those who live now, because for some of them, their wars have not ended.

IF any dislikes come to this story, it is just a shame and feked up on those people.

This may be late, but if any veterans saw this, im sure they would still appreciate it.

oh. grog bowl huh? JROTC did that twice and the Military Ball they do......did not taste good.

3496593

I just got to drink from a grog bowl yesterday. I can still taste it.

This was a great story. While the writing did feel a bit off at places, it was very emotional overall.

A few missing words and grammatical errors, but goddamn if it isn't touching.
Thank you for those who served and stared death in the face on a regular basis, simply to protect the nation we are living in.

this was a bitch to refind

Is it alright of I use some of the years for a chapter in my fic?

Sure, though I don't know what you mean since I didn't put a date in my story :derpyderp1: Just make sure you credit me

I need more of your stories, this one is an example of how good they are.

~Edit:
My god, I've read this over 50 times, still can't help but be touched by this story.

"Sometimes we refuse to release memories, sometimes memories refuse to release us."

This story along with the song almost brings me to tears good job and God bless America and protect those that fight for our freedom they will never be forgotten

THE FEELS thank you for making this story:twilightsmile::pinkiehappy:

Sorry about that.

Excellent writing. I enjoyed it and wish to say thanks to our veterans and RIP to the heroic dead.

Excellent. Well written.

78 weeks and 4 days ago I posted my comment on this story after reading it and never read it again. Jesus, that's more than a year and a half ago if I did my math correctly. Going through my page again I saw this story sitting in my "Top Favs" section and I remembered what it was about so I read it again.

After a year and a half, this story impresses me as much as it did the very first time I read it. If I could upvote a story more than once this would be one, bravo, amigo.

Everything seemed rushed to me. Idk why.

7587482 I wrote that, a while ago. Also to the Creator... The site stopped supporting Imgur...

Doesn't look like anyone has read this story recently, doesn't change the fact that it's a really awesome story!

A lovely Epilogue. Really summs up the story, good way to end. Once again, awesome story.
