3464208 Hope you enjoy it! Also for the readers, there is some Panzer actions here, so stay tuned!

I love and enjoyed your story.:pinkiehappy:
I hope they can interact with these ponies if they want to.:twilightblush:

3464227 That depends on the Desert Fox himself.

Afrika Korps vs Team Yankee.

erwin rommel, I read, was not only a dangerous general, but an honorable opponent. He wasn't a Nazi, and nor did he give in to supremacist arguments of the Third Reich. I wonder if you could play that up in the story.

3464630

That would be correct the Afrika Corps was the only German field unit not accused of War Crimes during the war. Rommel was famous for ignoring orders to execute commandos and Jewish POWs during the African Campaign and during his tenure as commander of Army Group B refused to deport France's Jewish population to the Death Camps and openly criticised the 4th SS Panzer Grenedier Regiment's massacre of the civilians at Oradour sur Glane and wanted to discipline the entire SS Das Reich Division

3465093
are you going to explicitly mention that in the story. Is he going to like try to conquer Equestria in Hitler's name. Or is going to wonder the hell is going on?

3465093

Rommel: Showing that you can be one of the greatest opponents of the free world, and be an honorable man.

3465104

Who knows, Rommel may have been an honorable general but like all Wermarcht officers and soldiers he was bound by his oath of allegence to Hitler, and for a German officer and soldier there was no bigger disgrace then to violate that oath especally when it meant you or your family would face Hitler's wrath. Rommel was one of the few who saw the light and turned on Hitler however the average foot soldier never did

3465104

The Afrika Korps motto that Rommel lived by was Ritterlich im Kriege, wachsam für den Frieden (Chivalrius in War Vigilante for Peace), a motto he was keen to enforce

However the Afrika Korps like all of the Wermarcht lived by the Nazi Creed of Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher (One People, One Empire, One Leader) The war was waged in Hitler's name by the German Army and Hitler's word was law

hopefully, this story will be interesting

3464492 Hahaha LOL. You do realize that this is based on WWII?

3464630 I could, but in the next chapter of course.

3466961

Once you add magical Technicolor ponies, does the correct time frame even really matter?

Besides, Team Yankee + Afrika Korps vs. The Big Red Machine FTW.

3467109 Dude, I stick in a particular time frame. If it's history-based stories, then that's the status. However, non-historical stories shall have no particular time frame.

3467114

It'll be interesting to see how The Desert Fox reacts to his new surroundings, especially the lack of continued fuel and ammo supplies for his Panzers.

That is, unless the Nazis tried an experiment similar to the mythical Philadelphia Experiment and ripped open a semi-permanent one-way portal to Equestria (things go in but they don;t come out again).

3467136 I will be sticking real-life scenarios, limited fuel and supplies.

3466964 That is Chapter 3 or 4.

3467161

Thought you might be interested

Panzer Army Africa (Afrika Korps) Composition
15th Panzer Division
21st Panzer Division

90th Light Infantry Division
164th Light Infantry Division

3467427 O.O The 5 Panzer IV's and 4 Panzer III's in the story(without any Artillery Group) are in the mix of the 15th and 21st Panzer Division.

3472085 This story is for you guys!

Grammar: much better than Bismarck.
Plot: fine.

Over all's good! :pinkiehappy:

Aaaaand my daily wtf quota has been met :derpytongue2:

3478115 There is a certain level of weirdness I need in my life to stay sane despite having an office work. This site usually delivers, with things like a Barak Obama/Celestia clopfic (never read it - just knowing it exist was quite enough)

or this.

3478226 LOL. You will know the story soon enough.

Allow me to suggest reading Rommel's book Infantry Attacks to understand his tactics

These ponies are fucking blind. HOW DO THEY NOT NOTICE IT'S METAL?

3496365 Because they don't fully understand metal much.... :P Just my theory.

Another theory, they didn't even see the color details.

Either of the two supposed.

3496516 Well yes, Ponies are known for their innocence and fucking retardness when it comes to anything technological.

3496580 I mean, they're practically children! They even think their rulers raise the sun and moon!

3498934 All i got to say is try to pace the story out and improve the grammar. Other than that, please open a can of whup ass on those Monarchical bastards.

3498947 First: Yeah I'm keeping that in mind.

Second: HAHAHA!

Maybe its just me but that doesn't seem like how Afrika Korps soldiers would react to Rommel, they would never address him by saying Hey Erwin or Yes Rommel, he would've said Heer Field Marshal, and yes sir out of respect for his rank. Only the Allies ever called him Eriwn or Rommel

I'm not criticizing the story I just take military history very seriously

3499934 I know that dragonfang33. I did get your suggestion strongly enough to put into the story. Anyways, tnx for the suggestion!

3498956 OH, MY NAME IS CELESTIA. WE SUPPRESS LEARNING AND WE MAKE OUR SUBJECTS BELIEVE WE'RE GODS. They are asking to be killed.

Generally, tanks don't use shells on singular infantry targets.

3505970 Most cases, except for gunners who are totally excited and instead for their MG's, just pull the trigger of the main gun.

3506103

Yeah I remember that scene in the 73 Easting episode of World's Greatest Tank Battles. Still, opening fire on someone armed with a spear, which has virtually no capacity to damage a tank from even WWI, strikes me as overreaction in the extreme.
