Sheesh, quite the background there for Sunset. I am however torn about Spera, interested in seeing them together given their tragic pasts but also really uncertain of where this could go.
Sortof feels like Joker and Harly, only jokers insane and Spera's... Err not insane in the same way....

I mean, I would love for Spera and Sunset to get together in the end (the pairing is now one of my favorite)...but major villains in Equestria Noir always seem to die in the end. I hope jacoboby1 has something good planned for the pairing and that is not as doomed as Case 19 of season 1 (The one with the seapony).

In a -- admittedly small -- way, I feel kinda sorry for Sunset, but at the same time she brought this wholly on herself. People (or ponies, in this case) who want power purely for the sake of power or because they think they are better than everybody else are the ones least deserving of that power. And this is the thing that often happens with people who suddenly find themselves in a better situation than others; that is, the think they are better than everyone else because they got lucky and that they don't have to remember where they came from.
As for Spera, I still like him, and I still have hope that he'll have a good ending. Plus, I agree that he and Sunset would have made a good couple, but we'll see what happens.

can't help but feel that spera finding shimmer wasn't by accident. just think about it. if you found someone in a graveyard who seemed to have lost everything, it would be all fine and good to be kind to that person/pony. but, it just feels like he has an ulterior motive for finding her. is he kind of trying to find 6 other ponies who might be descendants from the first element bearers to somehow see if something might happen?
Sunset and Spera are pretty much the evil versions of Twilight and Private...
