Learn to love the writing, of telling a story that you want told, and not the recognition that comes with it. When skill and passion atrophy, write for yourself, and in time, you'll inspire others.

Big Macintosh is a hard-working man: everyone knows that. What many do not know, however, is just how long he works during the peak of harvest season. He runs himself ragged every night in order to get everything harvested and put away, so that there is enough food on the table for his family and their town throughout the winter. Many times he goes overboard with this and almost kills himself, but he does it anyway, despite what his friends and family say.

One night, he is out, working tirelessly as usual, when he catches someone's eye. They feel he needs a break, the kind only one imbibed with the power of dreams and moonlight can provide...

Well, this was very nicely done, pacing was amazing (as usual) and the conversation was both heartfelt and earnest. In fact it reminded me of a few quotes that my mother and father told me before I left the house and joined the Marines.

The past is indestructible, the more time you dwell on it in the present, the less time you have for your future.
And.
The past can make you one of two things, better or bitter, it is up to you to choose which.

All and all well written, you certainly have a knack for writing. I only wish I was this good.

AWSOME but still want more Spike dude

3646121 Oh, don't worry, I will have some more Spike-centered updates out before I start classes again early January. Not much to do during break other than play video games and write, and sometimes I tire of video games for a while.

I loke this ship. Fav and like

Has anybrony else noticed the number of marines on this site? I will be one of them someday

Good luck young man/woman. And yes Marines are everywhere. Semper Fi

Nice story! I think Luna and Big Mac are like the most adorable couple in all of Equestria! Thank you for writing!

I'd love to hear a reading of this!

Reviewer note: Before dialogue is spoken, imagine what is typed is being typed right into a computer. After dialogue it is like a story.

The Brony fandom and I have been going through a rough time. If this was some sort of relationship with a women, the Brony fandom and I are just together just because on our good memories and that in some months time something good will happen, but it does concern me when she runs around claiming it is raining shit.

The point of me saying that was to give some sort of reason for my absences when I do a review. I pick up something, read it, start a review, don’t do something about the review for a random amount of time, read the story again then redo writing the whole review. So yeah, no need to dig a grave for me yet.

After my last review’s opening was heavy on the references to video games, I said to myself that I would lean less on video games for references for this review but sweet merciful Buddha, the title of the story title is ‘Harvest moon’. I chose the story at random but come on, the time I want to cut down on video game references the story shares the same name to a video game.

Romance is something according to my fellow reviewers is that we are romance Gods…. wait a second I meant we are about as romantic as rocks being shoved up a cows ass. So with that established lets hip thrust our way into the review.

With that said I’m not against romance, I don’t really like the idea of dying alone, a common thing shared with every living creature one this plant. Is so hard to believe that critics have a soul.

Romance can be very hard to make since that romance is subjective. A lot of writers take some life experiences so that a story feel some what realistic, so that make good romance stories on a My Little Pony fanfic site hard to find in theory with stereotypes.

As romance fanfics goes and it also it being on the internet I was a bit surprised when this had a teen rating so it has to stand up on it’s story and not how much of a boner it tries to give me.

So, story. Big Mac is working hard as it tends to be his only character point in fanfics but oh dear, he is working too hard, what ever shall he do. So while Mac is working Luna, is basically perving on him.

“But Onii-chan that isn’t true, Luna is looking over him, she is concerned about him,” a blond girl with deep red eyes in a white dress who is right next to me said.

“Who are you?!” I yell, twisting my body to face the girl.

“I’m Ruby-chan, remember the thing that you did this morning that ‘failed’. It didn’t fail and I’m a copy of a part of your soul,” Ruby said with her arms straight out if she was expecting a hug.

“If I had a daughter I would like to call her Ruby and if ‘Tamashi no kopi’ worked why are you a girl, it’s not like I need a sister, I already have a sister,” I said.

“Am I a sister? If so, I’m different, I’m am or at least was apart of you, I know everything about you, even the dark things,” Ruby said, rubbing up against my right arm, giggling.

“I hope you are not implying what I’m thinking you are,” I said, slowly pushing Ruby off me.

“Luna is only caring for the man she loves,” Ruby said blushing, hands on her cheeks.

“What’s with the sudden topic change and what are you? Are you like what if a girl part of me was taken from me?” I said.

“Pretty much,” Ruby said. I wasn’t expecting to be right. “Isn’t so romantic, she is begging him to rest. Now this is where you say something about the grammar Onii-chan, let me hear you,” Ruby said poking my right arm.

“Wha, *sigh*. Grammar is okay, like I’ve stated before, grammar to me is something that can only be fine if there is no error for me to see or bad if there is some errors. Something that is worth mentioning that is a bit about grammar is that Mac is speaking outback and since I don’t speak American farmer I don’t really have any ground to criticize.” I said.

Ruby grabbing my right arm says, “Let me talk about Luna. Luna, the princess of Equestria’s night is the story’s female character, she come across as romantic to Big Macintosh but she is not a standard love interest who is there just for Big Macintosh to fall in love with but is there to help Big Macintosh with his past. She is written good as a person who cares for Big Macintosh.”

I take a breath, then say, “Big Mac here isn’t exploring new land with the character, only real difference from the show is that he is easily able to speak a whole sentence. The helping Luna does for Mac’s past isn’t anything new, Mac’s parents got in a fatal accident and he feels bad about it. While an okay character at best he isn’t interesting as Big Macs go.”

“Is there anything else to talk about Onii-chan?” Ruby asks.

“Well pacing of the story is fine, I guess, it keeps things at what I feel is a slow, easy talking pace. The atmosphere is good, silver sticker for that then. Hey Ruby, why are you calling me Onii-chan if you're me, even if it just in the soul that means that you aren’t Japanese and if anything we are the same age.” I said.

“I know you want me to,” Ruby said. She can use that excuse for almost anything, even if it is a lie.

Ruby moved herself onto my lap then asked, “Want to continue watching Nyaruko-san?”

“Your the one who is claiming that what I’m thinking is a good chance your thinking as well.” I said.

“So that is a yes,” Ruby said, smiling taking the computer mouse.

“Wait, didn’t the ‘Tamashi no kopi’ spell say something about bending reality?” I thought to myself.

14 years ago, when I was a small child, I found out I liked the pastel horse show. I participated in the fandom, the good, and the dreadful. I made friends and enemies alike while learning about friendship, and many things a child should not know. At some point, around 2016, I grew out of it and got on with my life.

This last Christmas, during my first year of college, I started watching it to annoy my roommate, and good friend. Slowly, after dropping out because of the price, and my poor math skills, I started watching again, not in a ironic way, but for my own enjoyment. I started to participate in the fandom I loved so much once again. I enjoyed it to the point I would actually call myself a brony once again after 7 long years of hope, despair, laughter, and tragedy. Not as a child this time, but a man who has not let his naive optimism behind, no matter how strongly it gets him burnt; unwilling to see the world as the cruel place it is.

I say all this to drive home the fact that after so many years I finally read my first fanfiction and it is a fucking big Mac x Luna story.
