I just had a thought:
If Nim is acting like this around plasma rifles and power armour, how will she react to Liberty Prime?
Pony rides galore at Little Lamplight!
4283677
Sweet god.........
EVERYONE RUN!!!!!!!!!!
Is it just me or is it weird that you referred to Nim as an alicorn? Just wondering.
4283677
Just don't tell him Equestria is run via monarchy.
BECAUSE DEMOCRACY IS NON-NEGOTIABLE.
4283764
Ah did I do that? It was accidental, would you mind pointing it out for me?
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee give Luna a Chinese Stealth Armor....pleassseeeeeeeeeeeeeee
4283895
Because a primitive alien (Luna is technically that), a wastelander who grew up in a Vault and Brotherhood Outcasts would know how to modify the one-of-a-kind piece of stealth armour. <sarcasm>
How about, next time, you think things through?
Nice chapter, can't wait to see how things go at the vault.
4283677 I think Sarah will hear sounds meant for the bedroom only.
4284058
Thanks
4283915
Dood.....she can morph the shape of the suit to her fitting like she did with the talon company armor..
4284053 hear? hell, Nim might accidently cause Sarah to Climax from seeing that.
4284234 man, the talon armor was butchered. the stealth armor is complicated.
4283791
That's so hilarious, and I'm not entirely sure why...
4284279 yeah, but only Sarah and Luna will be able to hear Nim.
4283799 either you got it already or I'm crazy
4284390 i know that...
4284401 na its probably both.
4284416 oh good. thought i was going sane for a moment.
4284419
I grabbed it already, though you're probably crazy
4284433 good, good..... crazy is good.....
Sarah and Luna meet

Please make it happen.
need luna to get power armor
4284768
How. Tell me an honest way to get Luna a suit of custom made power armor. The Brotherhood of Steel has to refurbish their suits; they do not make their own. If someone (it's not just you) can tell me a legitimate way to get Luna fully working power armor then I will attempt to find a way to work it in but the facts of the matter is that there is no way for Luna to get power armor.
If you want to see an alicorn wearing power armor, go read one of the Fallout Equestria side stories where that's actually a possibility instead of asking me to violate canon.
To Deeadinlight, this comment isn’t specifically for you, you just happen to be the person to ask it this time.
4284868
What about the Enclave? In Vault 87, they're going to capture Sarah, why not make them capture Luna as well? Have them, after seeing the effectiveness of Luna's magic and fighting, try to control her while Sarah is interrogated. They succeed, give her a pre-prepared suit of alicorn power armor, and send her off to fight Sarah. With Nim's help, they release the Enclave's hold on her, and they both escape with a fancy suit of power armor.
4285067
See, that's a good idea as far as it goes, but then you have to remember that Autumn didn't have long to look at Luna and thus doesn't know the actual size of her not to mention that actually creating a suit of power armor of that size and shape would probably take weeks if not months
4285067
4284868
i always did like that mod where there was a deathclaw with powerarmor..
4285151
Maybe not Autumn, but there were lots of other Enclave personnel there. Besides, if the Enclave can create a mutagen that will kill any irradiated anything that ingests it within the few weeks that they knew about the purifier, I think they can modify a suit of power armor to fit a horse. Unlike the brotherhood, I'm pretty sure they create their own power armor. Plus, they knew that Sarah would go to get the GECK and were able to set up an ambush. If they knew that, they would make the armor a high priority for construction. As for the whole fitting thing, they must be able to roughly guess that size, about that of a Pre-war horse. Although if you want to bypass that, armor in the Wasteland seems to be "One-size-fits-all-except-mutants-and-robots". These are just my idea's though.
4285489
Oh boy. How about the Enclave has a deep distrust of outsiders at best? They'd know it'd be ten kinds of fucking stupid to give someone power armour if they have the capabilities of turning on them.
And the Enclave seems to pretty much hate anything that is not a pure human. Ghouls are treated as dumb animals, normal wastelanders are to be rounded up. How do you think they'd react to Luna if they actually got their hands on her?
And don't try and use the excuse of Frank Horrigan, he was Enclave before he got mutated, and he was loyal right to the end.
Oh finally, a Fallout/Pony crossover where the human character ACTUALLY wears power armor. I have to say, that's refreshing. Most of the time it's either Riot Armor/NCR Veteran Ranger Armor (for a Courier) or the Armored Vault Suit or something (for the LW). I do hope Sarah customizes it somehow though. Maybe spraypainting a New Lunar Republic insignia?
Though I would've liked to see a bit more depth to the training process than what you saw in-game (basically nothing). Maybe a few tips on how to maintain and repair the armor or something, since I imagine it would be a complex process (like how a lot of tank crew training is actually about making field repairs).
You misspelled Believe. Besides that minor spelling error, great chapter! I can't wait to see haw they'll react to Little Lamplight.
4285781
True, but it's that same hatred of outsiders that makes them over confident. If they think they can use mind control on something, like the Deathclaws that they mind control in canon, then they would think that they can control Luna. And they'd be right, if not for Nim having her own direct like to her mind. Plus, I never said, and outright doubt, that the mind controlling process would be pleasant for Luna, if only because the Enclave would probably try to control her as if she was an animal. With brute force and by inflicting pain.
4284868
Well, one way might be if you do the Mothership Zeta mission. If afterwards you have sections of the ship still access able after the mission unlike in the game, then you could stumble across some kind of manufacturing area which can build custom power armor among other things.
4286940
Assuming they can read alien script and figure out how to work whatever hardware and software it's connected to, and how to hack through whatever security systems installed in it. Assuming there even is some sort of hardware interface with whatever manufacturing facilities would be on the ship. Assuming the manufacturing facilities are large enough to produce Armor sizeable enough for Luna. It's a lot of assumptions.
It might be easier for Luna to figure out a way to convert electricity or radiation into magic. Assuming that's possible, you could remove whatever power generators from two sets of ruined power Armor and set them up like saddle bags across her back. Then again, if you're gonna go that far, you might as well directly wire them into a gating laser. Infinite ammo. I'm sure she'd love that.
4287514
Except, somehow, the humans onboard can understand and use the ship's systems to an extent. So it's not that out there.
And the quest resumes! Off into the wastes! I was wondering what was going to happen when we got to the part where that bad stuff that just happened happened, and now I know. Now I'm wondering what's going to happen when the time finally elapses and Luna gets taken back to Equestria. If Nim is still in Sarah's mind, does that mean that she'll remain on earth when Luna is taken to Equestria? No, that can't be right, because that would mean she wouldn't become nightmare moon... well, I suppose it could still happen, chance what happened and all. It's not like this story hasn't changed what happens in Fallout (Though not in the way I hoped, stupid Enclave). That is not a criticism of the story. Just me wishing things could've been happier for our hero.
Of course I am worried about their ultimate fate, but no amount of worrying would make it better. Will Sarah get to go back with Luna to Equestria? Goodness, I hope so. After losing her father, it doesn't seem like there's much for her in the wastes. The only thing she really loves is Luna...
Hmm we really need a nuclear radiation to magic power converter. The lack of Magic just keeps chomping up Luna's buttocks!
Keep going! ;)
4285151
While it would be great if Luna had power armour, anything human made wouldn't function well in this situation.
Using Fallout: Equestria as my reference, all pony power armour is either earth pony bulky, or enchanted to be lightweight. While they could easily make it strong enough to be effective, they have no way they could either make it flightworthy, or protect her wings. They would have to be pinned to her side, under the armour to be effectively protected.
Now, if she was to bring a set back to Equestria with her...say if she was summoned back mid story, forcing Sarah and Nim to fend for themselves (captured by Enclave) for a chapter or two... with the time difference, she could have a set developed and built before they really knew she was gone.
Hell, she could even have a custom suit made for Sarah as well!
4283677 Win.
4284868 I can think of one plausible way of Luna getting power armor: They find a suite of prototype power armor meant for a horse, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch. I can just picture someone pitching the idea of a calvary charge of power armored soldiers atop power armored horses as an intimidation tactic and also a throwback to the Country's founding. It would most likely be heavily themed in Patriotic imagery and they would need to modify it for Luna's wings, horn and likely size but it would be doable. As for where they could find it; I am not sure, while I don't see the Enclave making it I can imagine it is something they might try and retrieve if only to study it for ideas on power armored Death Claws... I can't see anyone making costume armor for Luna, the reason being that the amount of time and resources needed to develop the armor from scratch.
4287816 The problem with Luna making her own is two fold: one is that she would have to reproduce all the electrical components and write new software for the armor. Two is that it would take away time that she could be using to find a way to be reunited with Sarah. I am not saying Luna couldn't do it, she has all the time in the world.
4287514 If magic is a form of energy then it should be possible to convert other forms to it. That being said it would take awhile to find a safe and reliable means of doing so.
Yeah, I noticed Nim was lightening up. I like it though, since it disproves my assumption that Nim would remain mostly static. That's actually one of your strong points; developing all 3 characters in their own way. A lot of time I see two well rounded characters and a third wheel that doesn't ever change. There weren't any grammar, syntax, or spelling errors that I could find, but since this has been out two days now, that's only natural. This chapter was meant to begin pushing the story along again, which I'm glad for, and that it takes Sarah's mind off her father (but I know she'll crack once she meets Col. Autumn). However:
“If we did then it would be one less patrol in the fight against the mutants and we barely have enough of those as it is.”
Specifically barely having enough. If I remember correctly, if you asked to join the BoS, one of the paladins would say they have too many recruits already. The way you worded it makes it sound like they have none at all. You might want to reword it, but that's up to you. Anyways, this chapter gets a Smuggler's End/10.
I personally don't think they would ever find the chance to produce a working suit of pony power armor, but I am sure the brotherhood could come up with a few ways to improve her existing armor as thanks some time in the future, maybe add material to cover her legs and give her some kind of combat helmet shaped appropriately for her head, and maybe even a set of altered ballistic fists to let her destroy an armored Enclave asshole with a swift buck to the face, because an alicorn with a laser rifle, a plasma rifle, a magic sword, and an super sledge is not enough god damn it.
Another well done chapter ^^ good show my friend :)
Dat power armor though, sweet business~
I would love to see Luna clad in that, that would be all forms of awesome! :D but eh, probably not X3
Keep it up man!

this is weird, but every time i see a comment from you there's at least 1 dislike...
it's like someone is actively disliking every one of your comments despite them being compliments
and now that i noticed that, have a like, because i agree with you
4286104 Hey...in Fallout New Vegas I used to wear power armor...until I found elite riot armor.
4420635 And a WW2 heavy tank? (IS-2, KV-2, Tiger 1, or the "King Tiger").
4296902 So true! SHE MUST GET SASHA AND A M2 BROWNING 50 CAL MACHINE GUN.
6920835 (If you don't get the TF2 reference, you suck.)
6920837
Name of Heavy's minigun.
Well originally the G.E.C.K was meant as a really useful kit with fertilizers, seeds, a generator, shit like that. It wasn't a McGuffin as fallout three made it out to be
