A double event has just occured and the Kaiju are approaching Hong Kong. As the last thing that stands in the way between them and certain destruction, Striker Eureka, Crimson Typhoon, and Cherno Alpha are deployed to intercept the monsters. Taking position at the Miracle Line, the three Jaegers await their opponents.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash have absolutely no idea where they are. All they know is that they're in a really big, barrel high pool. That is, if a pool could extend as far as the eye could see. On the horizon however, they see the familiar silhouette of land and, as any reasonable creature would, approach it.

This story is completely ridiculous, but it's definitely kinda fun. Honestly, by the time I was done with it, I found I liked the premise more than the story itself -- a straight retelling of the movie's plot didn't leave much room for surprises. Plus, it kinda became clear that there wasn't really going to be any interaction between AJ/Dash and the pilots, after Chero and Typhoon's crew got killed.
So yeah, the idea is really charming, but the execution was kinda bland. That said, your writing is good -- often descriptive and clear, so I liked that.

3331325 Fair enough, and thank you I really appreciate that. I admit, I really didn't take it that far, mostly because I genuinely wasn't sure where I should take it. As you said the fic itself is rooted in absurdity and I didn't want to ruin the awesomeness of the Jaegers, whilst simultaneously keeping the insanity of fighting giant ponies, so I took a relatively safe route

Honestly? What I thought you were going to do was have AJ and Dash get in a scuffle with the Jaegars with would leave them all broken or disabled, then they'd notice the tiny little people, and realize they'd need to fill the role of the broken Jaegars to finish off the kaiju.
But yeah, either way, it was a fun idea.
And just because it bears repeating at every opportunity: Pacific Rim was sooooo fucking great.

The entire fic is Dark Comedy at its finest. And as much as it sorta cheapens their deaths in canon, its still oddly amusing when you realize that AJ and Rainbow are by all means, being Oblivious Monsters the entire time.
