A Day in the Life

T

He's a smart ass. He's untouchable. He's four feet tall. It's Tyrion Lannister. He drops in to say "hello" to the peaceful ponies from across the sea and share a drink with Princess Celestia.

Pft.

This was a good one. Good choice, too, by the way.

Nice work, man.

~Skeeter The Lurker

You fucking genius...

Four Years later...

Celestia: By the sun, Tyrion! what and the hay happened to your nose?!
Tyrion: Oh, Hello, Princess. Oh, you noticed that? Well, I lost it in a battle.
Celestia: A BATTLE?!
Tyrion: I was also thrown in jail, killed my father, and became a slave since I've last seen you. Could you be a dear and bring up some wine? I'm parched.

I wonder, could you have more chapters? One for the end of every season/book? It would be interesting to see Celestia react to her friends changing personality. Great chapter, keep goin and stay golden^^

That is why Tyrion is my favorite
:yay:

Just yes,

Well this is an odd yet charming friendship. Interesting little story!

I actually want to read more of this... I have been meaning (on occasion have) to look for stories that have the "Song of Ice and Fire" characters. This is THE first one I have found.

The Imp is a good choice. Ned would have been dull

Next up: Prince Blueblood VERSUS Prince Joffrey
ROUND 1
FIGHT!!!

Ah so in this story Westeros' Western seas separate it from Equestria (I'm guesing seeing as it has a diversity of climates running north to South like Westeros and to the East is Essos). Further Equestria must have some form of non interference clause and/or sanctions on The Seven Kingdoms due to the fact none of the Targaryens thought to meet with the dragons their, Honestly I could see that happening with Celestia's power levels.

Halfman! Halfman! Halfman!

Amusing read but I found a goof. Jamie can't inherit Casterly Rock because he's in the Kingsguard who renounce all claims of lordship for life. Jamie couldn't be the Kingslayer if he wasn't there to stab the last crazy Targaryen.

Tywin was most likely going to hand Casterly Rock to his own brother, Kevin Lannister at least before his poor sons started dropping during the war.

4156941 This I knew. :ajsmug: I remember Tyrion asking Tywin for a reward in 'A Storm of Swords' and he immediately shoots him down, saying that Casterly Rock is going to Jaime despite him being in the Kingsguard.

Still, good eye. It's nice to see an aficionado of the series.

Ah, Tyrion... you WOULD be pals with Celestia!

Well, this is something I didn't see coming. Well done.

4159419 Well they were still afraid of her on Nightmare Night

yesYES YESH YESH YESHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

positively dreadful wedding

Still better than 99% of GoT weddings.

4160083 lol I wasn't implying that Luna would be run out with torches and cast out of society, rather she would be talked about and her subjects would likely (and did) shy away from her for a time. That's what she was afraid of, and why Celestia essentially told her not to let it get to her and thus the commonfolk will see her as a stronger pony.

At least, that was what I was thinking as I was writing this :twilightblush:

As someone who's writing a crossover between these two stories right now, thanks for the inspiration.

Now I'll get around to writing that next chapter I keep putting off.

4154925 I've read the books, so this isn't new information to me, but you should at least throw a spoiler warning or something in this comment for people who only watch the show :applejackunsure:

4154925 Yeah dude, cover those with spoiler tags. Not everyone on here reads the books.

Good Lord I've been waiting for a GoT/MLP crossover for a long time. I've read most of the books and seen the TV series. You wrote Tryion well and I loved the references as well.

Gig

Yeap, that's Tyrion all right!

It's great! I'm expecting a followup from after Dances with Dragons. One thing, though:

Tyrion shrunk a little to avoid getting bonked by her horn. "Not a lord of anything, I'm afraid. Unless you're referring to the gutters of Casterly Rock." Tyrion straightened his back. "My brother is to inherit Casterly Rock, remember?"

The second 'Casterly Rock' feels a bit superfluous here. Perhaps replace it with something simpler like 'the place'?

I dunno. I rather liked Joff's.

4168966

o yes joff wending was amazing but i have to say the wine was the best part

ps: those who read the books will know about how amazing the wine was at joff wending

the wine was to die for :duck:

4169738

the wine certainly left me breathless and gave a satisfying taste to the wending, courtesy of our great hand of the king and his little finger

4155619 Not necessarily. He and the ponies could find some common ground.

"No," said the princess, curt and slow, "I'm referring to the spa in Ponyville that I refer to every time you mention a brothel or 'hoar-house' during your visits. It's only a day's ride away and I hear they give excellent massages."

"Enticing," said the Imp, "but I'm sad to say I won't be staying long. I've got plans." Tyrion did not sound particularly excited for whatever his "plans" may entail.

I was soooo hoping and expecting him to say something along the lines of "Well, I'm sad to say that unless these massages come with ends of the happy variety, then they sound a little dull for someone of my stature." Or something to that degree. Then again, that may be much even for him. :twilightblush:

Most entertaining.

Make more! we need more Tyrion!

OK, now I'm seriously wondering if you will do a sequal to this, perhaps after book 3 / season 4 when he's left kings landing and everything's gone to hell. He's disfigures, he's lost his love again, he's completely isolated from his family (At what level depends on if you follow the book route or the show route), and he's now wanted by Westeros. It could make for an interesting story to see Celestia's reaction to his tale.

Tyrion: Let me tell you a tale Celestia, a tale about a game; A Game of Thrones

Fuck yes. You managed to perfectly capture the image of Tyrion and demonstrate proper book knowledge.
Kudos to you, you magnificent bastard.

Simon Tyrion is best Dwarf.

This is goddamn perfect. Tyrion is spot on, and his conversation with Celestia not only flows beautifully, but their friendship feels genuine. Tyrion is the sort of person who would look at the usual deference everypony treats Celestia with, laugh at it, and speak his own (perverted) mind at her, which is a breath of fresh air that Celly would've needed at that point.

I'm happy I stumbled across this fic. I just typed the letter "a" into the search bar, and this was the only result. Great story.

This is really good!

A shame that Game of Thrones is mostly hated and forgotten nowadays.

:ajbemused:

So does this make Equedtria Sothoryos then? Wonder if there's an old Targaryen skeleton floating about some place.

Very cool work! Thank you, Game of Thrones is one of my hobbies along with video games. Right now my favorite game is ffxiv, but it's a bit difficult to play. But the guys from the game boosting service https://askboosters.gg/ffxiv/ help me cope with this. I am very grateful to them for their professionalism!
