"Finding it, though... That's not the hard part. It's letting go."

T

Gamer moms do not exist. Everypony knows that. Button Mash knows that. However, perhaps he'll make an interesting discovery today.

XD loved it.

That was awesome.
I'm glad to see someone else decided not to ponify Sonic, because I plan to be referencing him sometime soon in my story as well.

This was a well done story. I really like it!

Coming from a gamers perspective, who plays arcade games anymore?!

Great job! I thought this one was pretty funny! And the part where Button's Mom's character died reminded me of a quote from BlimeyCow: "If you want to lose faith in humanity, play 'Call of Duty' with a 12-year-old." :pinkiehappy:

It really could have waited Button, it really could have waited. Also apparently ponies are horrible at coming up with anonymous screen names.
AND NOW FOR MY FAVORITE PARTS!

At that moment, nothing could have distracted him, not even if changelings had suddenly invaded Ponyville under the command of a chaos-loving draconequus with an unusual obsession for crystals and stairs while wearing a dark amulet in the middle of eternal night.

How oddly specific. I for one welcome our new draconequus overlord.

Take that, ‘Dainrow Bash,’ I just destroyed your high score! 21.8% cooler in 9.65 seconds flat, beat that!

:rainbowderp:Apply cold water to burned area.

Pushing himself to the limit, Button prayed to one of his many gods, a blue hedgehog, wishing that he could go fast, and, before he knew it, he burst through the front door of the quaint little home.

Need I say anything?:rainbowdetermined2:

I play Phoenix a few times a month. Of course I own the cabinet so...

This fanfic was really good! both Button and Milano were spot on! :rainbowdetermined2:

I think everyone would if arcades still existed.

3334977 Damn straight I would. Me and my bros would be going to an arcade after school every day if we could.

Well, referring to Faust as 'God' was a little unnerving but other than that, great little story! Would love to see more! Keep at it. You're off to a good start.

It's not bad for a first story, but you rely a bit too heavily on referencing the original Button Mash video. Almost everyone reading this story will have already seen it, so referencing his bewilderment about the toy train catching fire again and such really isn't necessary.

I get that Button's excuse is referencing the Dr. Whooves fanon character, but it's oddly specific for a kid to have thought up on the fly. For example, why would he have misheard the catchphrase if he's making it up? Think about the kinds of lies children really tell.

I like the accuracy of the Call of Duty dialogue coming from the kids on the other end, though it's a bit of a strange choice for her to have tried playing. I find her dialogue a bit problematic, since she's using words like noob that are only things gamers would say. You have a good opportunity there to contrast what a mom would say vs CoD kiddies, perhaps even giving them a stern lecture on using appropriate language. Just a thought.

That's all the constructive criticism I have. However, I will say that gamer moms exist all over the place. They're just playing Candy Crush.

I thank you for taking the time to provide some constructive criticism. Although I did say that this was something I took (semi) seriously, it appears that I was still careless with the execution. That being said, I will admit that humor is not my strong point, and that this was really a spur-of-the-moment test run, as it were, before I start writing more serious stories. I can see that I must be more careful, even with a story as silly as this. Again, thanks for the feedback.

No Crash Bandicoot or Megaman? Whatever, I still liked it.

It's no big, man. I just really want to see every story be as good as it possibly can, which is probably why I'm an editor.

really enjoyed this. not sure how milano would know stuff like "noob" if she is an 'old' gamer since i don't think stuff like that would have been around when she was younger. that being said, keep up the good work man.

Ponies in a society where console gaming is only a semi-recent-ish innovation.

:fluttercry: This reminds me of how much I miss arcades, and this line from Futurama.

Well how long does it take noob to show up on an online multiplayer game? LOL matches it happens at least a dozen times.

No, they are not. I know someone who has one. But not me

This is both hilarious and compatible with my headcanon

I can sympathize with Button Mash. It's like when you see your grandparent on a laptop. That should not happen :pinkiecrazy:

Oh, I wonder what that star at the top of the story does.
*Clicks star which turns yellow*
Well that was pointless...

3331955 dude they need to be brought back

Funny and great! :eeyup::rainbowlaugh:

DAMNIT RAINBOW DASH!!! So close.

Awesome Button Mash story, I really enjoyed it. :rainbowlaugh:
