This is a very beautiful origin story.
It is wonderfully written, and a great way to introduce a new alicorn, without falling into the clichéd traps. It is also a very unique ship, with Luna X Smith.

What an utterly bizarre, fantastic, and whimsical little piece of world building. As well as very creative, I can say with certainty that I've never read anything like this around here before.
Great story.
The whole story just felt amazing. The emotions of Luna and Gaea were expressed beautifully. Also, that is some great world-building you did here, I'd very much like to see this expanded on.
All in all, I don't think I saw any real flaws, save for the possible minor grammar or spelling error.
