Seems like Shining Armor enjoyed quite a bit more popularity then Sombra...
Though for Sombra's part, we have to wonder just how much memory orbs about him can be trusted. The cartoon shows he was capable of magic that could mess with your mind, so how accurate would memory orbs be if a person can warp the perception of the memories of the pony the orb contains?
Edit: Thinking about what you said about who influenced Shining's speech, I can't help but think Charles Lindbergh was a very controversial person during WW2. Not all of the things I'm looking up so far paint him as necessarily a good person.
Can't wait to read more, keep up the hard work!!
This is so good, I WANT MORE!
7482716 I mostly focused on the anti war speech than the person itself as a way to portray Shining Armor essentially pulling the Crystal Empire from the war and to give a bit of inflection to what the Ministries, and as a result, Equestria as a whole had done in general to cause the chain of events. Shining is in no way reflected by the person itself, but we will be exploring this version of them later on in the fic with more memory orbs.

i once read part of a biography of Lindberg, and if i remember, he actually fought, as a fighter pilot, in a short war beforehand. he also perfected the practice of changing the propeller pitch while cruising to conserve fuel. (before he came along, pilots thought that trick made the engine wear out faster, but he proved that it didn't)
