At the celebration of the first anniversary of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Prince Shining Armor's marriage, some eerie feeling befalls the Elements of Magic. Before they can really become aware or prepare, a wave of disaster befalls Ponyville. With the help of Morning Glory, a few other Ponyville friends and a mysterious stallion, the group finds themselves thrust into a journey to save their home.
