A suggestion: Have Scootaloo come back from a trip or something to find the other CMC's have their cutie marks. The whole "go to a gypsy, who then tells them their special talents, then they go get their special talents" thing is waaaaay too simple and easy. Perhaps she comes back from a trip and the other two (three if you really want Babs) meet her there at the train station, jumping up and down in excitement with cutie marks on their flanks. Then you have the rest of the story to explore how each got their cutie mark and scoot's reaction to each one.
Good suggestion but I think I'm going to keep it the way I have it for now
