Captain Widdershins and Phil did not abandon the Queequeg, they were simply... borrowed, for a bit. Even when the two volunteers end up in a land of magical ponies, the treachery of the world is not as far away as they hoped.

Crossover with A Series of Unfortunate Events.

A Series of Unfortunate Events is one of my favorite book series of all times, and The Grim Grotto is my second favorite book (right after The Ersatz Elevator), so naturally, a crossover was due with the best sea captain in children's literature.

3279885 why not is a better question my good sir
why not

A Series of Unfortunate Events crossover?

Alright. Lets see how you play this one out...

A Series of Unfortunate Events is one of my favorite book series of all times

They're a really fun read, I'll agree there.

ASoUE = Insta-read

Hmm.... Not much else to comment on yet, besides a few typos ("Violate" is the only one I can recall, though I'm sure there are more). The encounter with Celestia could have used at least one VFD code, as well...

3280165 Alright, added a bit of VFD code in there. :scootangel:

Regi D. Ar

Is that how your name is pronounced?

:rainbowhuh:

You've got the humor and writing style down quite well.

And reading through this has been very nostalgic as it reminds me of when I read these books in school long ago.

Keep up the good work.

Crossover with A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Well... now I love you

This brought me back, the style was flawless and the premise is interesting. You know what would make this perfect? A Series of Unfortunate Eventslike illustrations, go and get an artist

A Series of Unfortunate Events? I loved that series! Especially the dedication page. They were the funniest.:rainbowlaugh:
It has been a few years since I read the last one, but from what I can remember, you pretty much nailed down the writing style. Even the word meanings.:rainbowkiss:
Spotted a couple of typos:

perfect rendition of the swedish alphabet like a trained seal

“I didn’t think you're dimension had any talking equines, so I figured there would be no confusion as to my origins.”

It's about time somebody did an ASoUE crossover.

3280696 I have an artist, but I doubt I could ask him to do more work for me.

loved it. :pinkiehappy:
one thing though:

“Aye!” shouted Captain Widdershins quite loudly, as was his way. He was, predictably, the Queequeg’s cook.

not sure if that's right, Captain Widdershins being the captain not the cook after all.

Oh.

Wow.

I just started reading "A series of unfortunate events" a month ago. I'm on book five.

The cover photo reminds me of skylanders, that one book series about giant airships and this giant floating island with rocks that fly straight up into :twilightsheepish:the air for some reason

It's probably something like if I said my name was Lagi N. C. Arnate, I assume the name is pronounced Re-ji-dar.

3284592 Reg-i-dar

3281961 Haha, made a small error. I'll fix that.

Is it bad that the only reason I can think of for Celestia needing the sugar bowl would be for it's intended purpose? Also, it's been many a year since I've read this fantastic series (unfortunately losing some of the books as well), could you jog my memory as to what the sugar bowl's purpose was, besides a MacGuffin for a few books?:twilightblush:

3284655 it contained something that would put almost all of the fire-starting members of VFD in jail for good, even without the help of the high court.

3284667 Yes, I recall that, but was the damning piece of evidence ever (for lack of a better word) described?

3284672 nope. it was a mcguffin through and though

3284726 Okay, thanks. I can remember most of the important stuff (and some less than important stuff) and that was driving me nuts.

:pinkiegasp::pinkiegasp::pinkiegasp::pinkiegasp::pinkiegasp::pinkiegasp::pinkiegasp::pinkiegasp::pinkiegasp: Series of Unfortunate Events crossover! :yay:
It has been done.
:coolphoto:

3279820 the grim grotto was definately the funniest

I am so going to love this crossover:twilightsmile:

I... this is AMAZING. I never expected to find such a thing on this site
May you have a Very Fine Day.
