It's probably due to thinking that cheerful technicolour ponies and horror don't mix, though I personally enjoy the idea that there's some terrible things lurking under that bright exterior. As if it's too good to be true...

I'm honestly considering it. I wrote the first 1500 words or so of the next chapter, "Frozen", and then real life caught up with me and the time I had for writing felt better spent on other stuff that was perhaps more popular. It's a shame because I think the concept behind the next chapter is pretty eerie, though I say so myself, but I don't know. It's been... Holy shit like three months since the last update. We'll see. I have two stories coming soon that are more pressing than this one, but I may well at least finish the next chapter of this afterwards.

But then another part of me re-read what's posted so far and really wants to continue. I'm not sure; it's kind of disheartening that so few people seem to like this one, and at the moment I'm really busy with Mis-Shapes...

I have to be honest and say it's unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely. I haven't written any horror stuff for a really long time, and this was never particularly well-received anyways. It's a shame, because I still think Dead Spiders is one of the best things I've written for this site, but there's just not much of an audience for that kind of thing here. That all said, I do still have about half of the next chapter sitting on my drive, so maybe I'll go back and finish it at some point. We'll see.

I don't plan on it. I think any new horror shorts would be better served as their own thing than as an addition to this super dead fic, and the plans I already had in mind for the subsequent chapters aren't exciting enough to make me desperately want to come back to them.
