Well, it's all telling. End of days Celly stories have been done before, too. This one's alright, but I'm a tad confused on the lore. It gets even odder when it talks about... well I don't want to spoil it. Interesting, though.

Would you mind messaging me about the confusing bits? I'd be happy to clarify, and fix the story itself to hopefully avoid future confusion.

You did a wonderful job at portraying the feeling of death in this fic as simple and inevitable, rather than frightening and sorrowful. If you want, there are a couple of songs I've heard that each have pretty separate viewpoints on death. Maybe they'd give you some insight, who knows?

The Last Amazing Grays by Sonata Arctica
I See A Darkness and Death to Everyone by Bonnie "Prince" Billy
The Spirit Carries On and Disappear by Dream Theater

Very cerebral fic so far. Keep it up!

Thanks, and I'll be sure to check those out!

I can already see that this is going to be a very cerebral tale....and that's definitely a good thing.

Promising start! Very curious to see where this goes.

Woah, just, woah! The feels are pretty strong with this one. Gonna fave cuz this looks like it's goin' somewhere! Keep it up!

A biiit overdramatic in the beginning, but I quite enjoyed this! It's mostly a what-if, with no real character development to speak of. Instead, we have a pretty interesting overview of future history.

Not quite a story so much as a history lesson, but it was an enjoyable, interesting lesson.

Also, I really love the idea that Celestia, Luna, and Discord are tied to their respective celestial bodies.

Yeah, sorry about that. This chapter was mainly to get the foundation of the story established.

Would you have any recommendations on how I could improve it?

I think, considering it's talking about the passing of all sentient life in Equestria, being a little overdramatic is called for. The main thing for me was that I saw a lot of sentences that were like, "____ had died." and that whole first bit got close to simply rattling off species names, and then saying they died. Again, though, in this context, it seems fine.

Going forward, I doubt Celestia will be talking, considering she's potentially the last pony alive, but I do hope we get to see what she, in the present, is thinking as she journeys.

Pretty much spot on there. Any form of dialogue will most likely be either her own thoughts, or her memories.

This looks promising. I believe that an immortal stricken with absolute loneliness offers such a massive conflict. She cannot die, but she can be killed. Therefore, she has the choice to decide which path to go on.

Quite the turnabout fic to see on here.

WHY has this not been featured??

But she, too, succumbed to Death’s cold embrace.

My embrace is not cold.

Seriously though, good job. Imagery and pacing well done.

Nothing here you need apologize for. (Well, maybe spelling "ridiculous" with an E, but that's trivial.) I'm transfixed by the premise, though this may be at least partly due to the fact that reminders of my own mortality are now pretty much part of the daily routine. And if the chapters are twelve hundred words, or twelve thousand, I plan to be here to read them all.

Thanks for catching a mistake, and thanks for enjoying the story!

Keep it up. Interesting world building, but you need to set the tone/mood a bit better. It feels really rushed.

I don't know how to feel about this...

It's either :applejackconfused: or :raritydespair:

Adding this to fave list...I'm liking where this might be going! :rainbowderp:

Oh my, I hope you will go on with this story o.o I just found it and can't wait to see how it will go on!

That is a large chapter?

You know nothing of large chapters, my friend.

That aside, well written. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Well, it's been 5 years...
