I've liked this. I like the way you tell the story, it really looks like if it had been taken directly from a real mythology book. Aragniel kinda reminds me of Ungoliant, specially the way she died.
I hope you write more chapters.

Oh, it's nice to see you picked that up! Aragniel's fate was indeed inspired by Ungolianth. In fact, it was the Silmarillion that gave me the idea for this story in the first place.
Another great one! But I have to ask, is there any sort of chronology to these tales? Are all of the Scion's stories going to be occurring at roughly the same time, or are all the events falling one after the other?

298179 Yes, the Silmarillion was indeed what gave me the idea for this story. I thought it would be most interesting to develop a mythology for the candy coloured ponies we like so much. There's so much one can do with the subject, too. Have hundred people write an Equestrian mythology and you'll end up with a hundred different stories, I'm certain. A community project focussed on Equestria's past might actually be a fun project/contest, who knows.
I love this Scions series that your working on, it sounds just like an old legend.
Even better is the completely unique appearance of most of them. 5/5 Mustaches for this one

Beautiful. It's got all the tragedy and mournfulness of a good gotterdammerung, but the moral and causes fit well in the mlp-verse.
