I have to agree...

Nice, but nothing to write home about.
Still, an enjoyable fic, I suppose, though it failed to call up strong emotions in me, which is a shame, because with the near-disastrous raid, the miraculous save, and the hint at romance, there was potential for a lot.

It seems mainly due to pacing and show/tell issues, I suppose. Maybe a lack of buildup, too. But mostly pacing. The parts that were supposed to be emotional just whipped by too fast, I think.
