A story about the bond between two sisters, jealousy, and regret.
Princess Luna feels as though she lives in the shadow of her sister. Always outshined, and never appreciated for her gifts. But what happens after the very first summer sun celebration will change the history of Equestria forever.

If i read it from Celestias perspective it feels like the written form of one of my favorite songs.
From Lunas perspective however it feels rushed. There would have to be a lot of painfull events preceding the first Summer Sun Celebration for Luna to turn herself into Nightmare.

The introduction to Luna was meant to hint at the thought that this wasn't the first time she'd been out-shined like this, only that she was getting tired of living in her sister's shadow. In retrospect I should have given more history to that aspect, but I felt like the emotions in the narrative were justified all the same

I typically keep my analysis out of the stories I write (even my head-canon's I don't typically add to my analysis videos) because I write for the sheer enjoyment of telling a story. This wasn't so much a thought on "what happened?" as much as "Celestia and Luna are fun and mysterious characters to write about."
