3113978 True, Darth Bane was far stronger than Darth Plagueis in terms of raw power, but don't forget that Plagueis was a master of midi-chlorian manipulation and could kill and revive living beings. So while Darth Bane had brawn, Darth Plagueis had brains.

Actually it says on Darth Plagueis' Wookiepedia page that he does know about Essence Transfer (which is the secret of immortality that I assume you are referring to) and he also knows the secret to retaining one's identity despite becoming one with the Force, he just wasn't interested in the immaterial world and he wanted to be immortal and stay in his body of birth.

And they didn't have the Old Republic stuff back then, and they only really came out just recently with the Old Republic(In my standards) so excuse me if I don't know everything about the Old Republic.
But when it comes to everything else... I've probably forgotten more about Star Wars than most people will ever know.
