Epilogue? More like Epiclogue :3

Loved this story so much! There's not much more I can say other than that :P

6020445

Thanks for being along for the ride. I'm glad that you enjoyed it enough to feel that way about it. I wish I could have justified putting the story far enough into the future to see Pip do her thing, but I dunno, I feel that it's kinda overdone. Anyway, there will be more from me in the future, and I hope you're around for it, Regolit!

6020448

Really glad that you enjoyed it! Thanks for sticking with me through it, it really does mean a lot to me that you did!

Aaannnndddd... It's over. I'm looking foreword to your next story, you do a good job of making an epic story without making it a (we must save the wasteland) big thing. And I got to love PC, even if she is a bit of a bitch, but that's what makes her lovable.

Your book has been advertised on the new facebook group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/foebooks/ :)

O_o Apparently I missed the epilogue. Into the MP3 player it goes.

6682738

All of PC's level ups were ripped right out of the Fo:E Pen and Paper RPG, mostly because it was the easiest way to track things that she could actually acquire at her level without going way overboard or inventing a perk that felt wrong! :pinkiehappy:

6682961 Oh! Makes sense! There were a couple of those random perks that seemed a bit OP in the original FoE and Project Horizons. :rainbowhuh:

:rainbowdetermined2: Well done, Gamma Deekay. I'll definitely be reading some more of your stories over the holiday break that's coming up. :pinkiehappy: There are some things that are worth fighting for, even if you just want to have a normal life after all that you've been through. :ajsmug:

6703108

Wow! You made it all the way through the story already? Quite a feat! :pinkiegasp::heart: I'm glad you enjoyed it too boot and understood what I was going for. Not everyone out in the wastes is out to save it, sometimes you simply must do what you must to build the life you want to have with those you care for.

6703118 :twilightsheepish: Well, I kinda started it two-and-a-half months ago, then decided to take a break from any Fallout stuff for a while in favor of a romantic comedy about banging everywhere and kicking clouds, then finally came back to it almost two weeks ago and ended up finishing it today. :rainbowderp: That explanation went overboard.

:rainbowdetermined2: My reading speed would give Twilight a run for her money.

6703614

Well, overall I'm glad you enjoyed it! :pinkiehappy: If you want to read any other stories while waiting for my next one, feel free to look at the recomendations I have on my user page!

6703764 I kinda derped on the order of the stories that go along with this and didn't realize it until I was a few chapters in, so I still have all of your other stuff to read while I'm waiting. :derpytongue2:

6703799

Well, just know this: Better Days is my most cohesive and correct work (considering I had an ACTUAL EDITOR for it), so don't be surprised that there's more errors and oddities in my other works! :pinkiecrazy:

6703881  That's fine. Besides, some of them add character to the story, like a mutant radiator attacking Backlash out of a lake. :trollestia: *Snrk!* Bwahahahahahaha! :rainbowlaugh:

Sorry. :pinkiehappy: That one was just really memorable. On a more serious note, I could attempt to point the errors out for you as I'm reading along, if you'd like. (It would also give me am excuse to slow down and stop binge reading)

PS I haven't come across any story-breaking errors yet, so you're doing great so far!

6703976

Well, I mostly haven't gone through Merchants of Hope for the reason that I don't want to update it yet. I want to remember how far I've come with my writing, and that means not updating the story until I'm done writing new ones! I know it's kind of an odd reasoning, but I do thank you for your offer! Instead, I hope you can look past the simple errors for the greater storyline! :pinkiecrazy: That being said, I won't stop you from pointing out the errors to be fixed at a later date. Overall though, I hope you enjoy it!

6703992 That's actually a very good reason to not change the story. :rainbowdetermined2: I can overlook the smaller errors for the sake of the story.

6885944

Yeah, that's a nice catch! :pinkiegasp: It's fixed now, but I'm not quite sure how that one slipped past Sawyer and I during the editing passes. Thanks for pointing it out, and I hope you've been enjoying the story!

6886043
No problem man. I just finished yhe story and absolutely loved it.

6888636

I'm glad you did! :pinkiehappy: Thanks for sticking with it all the way to the end, it means a lot to me to hear that you enjoyed it.

7025799

Howdy there! I'm glad you've gotten through The Long Winter and started on Better Days! Even though what we did to half the cast of TLW was fairly sad! :pinkiesad2: I'm sure that while PC is a bit of a bitch at the start, you'll grow to like her. :pinkiehappy: But yeah, I did kinda have to laugh at the whole Preston thing as what he said did remind me of it. x3 Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy the story!

7028625

Always! :pinkiecrazy:

Wow you're really tearing right through the story! :pinkiehappy: I'm glad you've been enjoying it so far!

7078991

Well, I did really enjoy it as a show. :pinkiecrazy: However, there aren't many more references to it that I've got planned in any story. Problem is that I've used most of them up already. But yeah, I have stuck in quite a few over my stories.

Okay! So I finished Better Days, and I loved it! I haven't made a comment for a while so I'm just gonna go over a few things I liked in the last few chapters. Though now I have this empty feeling, I loved this story and now I'm like, what do I do now?

I freaking knew it was Ficha that came out of the wreckage of the building! Also, I know he regenerates, but how was he still moving with his chest crushed in? Still, happy he's still here. :raritywink:

Eyy! Bluejay and Synchro are from the same Stable!

Nuuuu! Storm, WHYYY!? :fluttercry: I got really attached to Storm after reading TLW, and I was sad when she died. But yay :yay: Lever Action lives!

Also, yay! More children!

Anyways, loved the story Gamma! I might pick up Monsters later, but for now I think I'm gonna go read Second Winds, since seeing the mecha-stallion type dude that I don't remember the name of in the prison. So, bye for a while I guess? I'll be back soon! :rainbowkiss: (Also screw you Flint, I hated you.)

7093764

Huzzah!

I'm glad that you've made it all the way through! Seriously, you've really impressed me with how you've stuck with it, and I thank you for doing so. It means a lot to me to have you read and comment on everything! :pinkiesad2::heart: But anyway, on to your comment!

Yes, it was Ficha, he's still around. His 'condition' is something that will finally be explained in the story series Fo:E - Old Grudges, but that's still being written at the moment. He and quite a few of the old gang are back in it, and you should go check it out at some point! Though, with your track record for following our stuff, it's only a matter of time before you get to it!

I've gotten a bit of a reputation over the years for killing characters in the stories I work on. But Storm? She was a bit different. Sawyer and I, when we decided to write The Long Winter and Better Days at the same time, it became a challenge to write her knowing where she was going, without quite knowing where she had come from. It was hard for him to write her as well, mostly due to the fact that Sawyer knew I was going to kill her off in my Story at some point. Though, he gave me the thumbs-up when he read how she went out, and I think it was a fitting end for her all the same.

Still, I'm not heartless in killing characters. It's hurt ever since Merchants of Hope to do. And the sad thing? I don't plan to stop.

Moving on, however, I do highly recommend Second Wind. It's a fun story, and there's a lot still planned for it. I've had plenty of talks with Tinker Chromewire about his lore and such, and got permission to use a Deadmare in my store for a shout out. Still, while he may take a while to get a chapter out, he dwarfs me in writing composition. I'm sure you'll enjoy what's out for it so far!

But yeah, again, thanks for reading! :pinkiehappy: I really hope that I see you pop up again on some of my oneshots, or even my newest story! But for now, thank you, and have fun reading Second Wind!

So, I finished the story yesterday.

You let them have a happy ending! Yay.

I read merchants a long time ago, but this story was grand. Man, I love your characters and their interaction. Also, is there any art of Calthrop?

7210286

sorry I didn't notice this comment. FimFic never told me there was one here! I'm glad you enjoyed the story! :pinkiehappy: I'd done the bittersweet ending thing with Merchants of Hope, and decided to have a better ending for this story, so I'm glad you think it was good.

As for art of Caltrop, I have a whole lot actually. I think he's the character I've gotten the most art of so far. You can find most of the art of him over here: http://gammadeekay.deviantart.com/gallery/47960403/FoE-Better-Days Though, I'll be uploading some more of him there soon, as I've fallen a bit behind on keeping up with it.

Thanks again for taking the time to read my story. It means a whole lot to me.

7225773
I didn't know that there was this much art.
Wow, he's so cute. Oh, and PC.

If I had seen this, I realize why she kept him around initially.

He's the ideal horsebando.

Awesome story so far! I love the start of the characters and it drew me in quicker than most other stories on here! I highly recommend to anypony who is on the fence!

6021888 heres a thougt...a story from storms point of view

7485416

That actually already exists as the prequel story The Long Winter! My buddy Digital Ink and I ran our stories together, and it fills in all the blanks about Storm's past that you could ever want!

7485587 i meant her piont of view in this story plus i already read the long winter last year

7485696

Ah, I see. Yeah, it would be neat, but it probably wouldn't add much to the storyline of Better Days. :pinkiesad2:

7744753

Heh, PC's family is indeed... something else! :pinkiehappy: I'm glad you're enjoying the story!

7745000

Actually, Sandy's character design was thought up by a good friend of mine! I'd always planned for her to be small, cute, and innocent, but he's the one who drew her up the way she turned out! :pinkiehappy: I actually like the idea of her having an odd coat color and looking more like the old world diamond dogs because she's a genetic throwback to them while still being part hellhound. Really, it fit how I had her planned out to a T!

Great story!!!!

8234839
I'm happy that you enjoyed it! :pinkiehappy::heart:

"For the duration of your stay, there are nothing but better days ahead."

In the words of cinema sins: Roll Credits!

8343714
Eeyup! :pinkiecrazy: I'm glad you made it through the story, and I hope you enjoyed it!

8338116
Also I think they went to the ruines of Futura in one chapter too...

8343808

Indeed they did! The chapter after they were captured at the pool, actually. I'm glad you noticed!

8343848
I mean I did kind of marathon Merchants, Long winter and Better Days...the former 2 quicker than the latter one and the former 2 were read/listened to in the wrong order, so I may have had the locations fresh in my mind.

8343918

Yeah, but still! Thanks for reading the trilogy, and I hoped you enjoyed them all! :pinkiehappy: If you feel like reading more, you can always start up with Long Haul, which while it's not directly connected to the trilogy, it's got it's share of references to it!

8343943
isn't Old Grudges next in the canon?

8343948
Yes, of course! But it's on Hiatus until I finish Long Haul.

8343961
So Long Haul is also incomplete? I guess I'll wait until both are complete to read them....not the biggest fan of waiting for new chapters of incomplete fics.

8343970

Yeah, Long Haul is incomplete, but it's at 39 chapters, and I put out a new chapter every two weeks! But yeah, I get you! It'll still be here to read once I complete it! :pinkiehappy:

8750871

I'm going to really love my time reading this then :rainbowlaugh:

8754653

Nah, it's the same Caltrop as in Silver Nocturne! He's always been quick to fall in love though, something I'd originally meant to go into during the story, but never actually got a chance to fully flesh out. And really, after how he lost Sunsoft, PC is the rebound he wasn't expecting. :pinkiesad2:

8754764

Well, damn D:

It if works out then it was meant to be.

And I've come to the end of this great story.

As much as I want to have a teary eye moment that the story is over for me, I feel really happy instead.

Everything was good with this story, loved Caltrop... never change you lovable dolt :rainbowlaugh: and his moments with PC with many more that would take forever to mention lmao.

Any problem that I may of had would have been the typos ... not that it was that distracting.

In the end, I'm just happy to have read something so worth it compared to the last story... I didn't really enjoy the previous one as much, that being "The Long Winter" (I read that story before starting this one like you told me) .. but, regardless of that, it helped in a way when I started reading this one.
