Hi there! I write sad, funny, tragic, soothing stories, so keep an eye on the tags.

T

A lone scientist wanders through a barren wasteland, with no memory of what happened to his former home.

This story is based off of the song 'September' by The Living Tombstone (feat. MictheMicrophone).

I don't actually own that song, but I wrote a fanfic of it anyway.

Just looking this over, there are a couple things i'd like to mention.

At a glance, people on this site tend to notice certain things like how each chapter is below a thousand words each, and they link that with their past experiences of countless fics on here that weren't all that great that also had below a thousand words per chapter. It has been a running trend for terrible fics (not saying yours is bad at all, I haven't read it so I don't know) to be an author's first, along with having a miniscule word count for each chapter. Most readers will see this and either downvote without reading or go into your story fearing for the worst.

On top of this, your story seems to be centered around an OC and the song of a brony musician. It all really boils down to personal preference considering oc's at this point, but some people won't like the fact that it's based off a MictheMicrophone song. At all.

I'm not saying your story is bad, but quite a few, if not most people may not be all to confident about the fic due to these things.

Also the first chapter is 147 words. That's pretty much a paragraph in length. And there have been around 3~4 stories based off the song with a similar premise seen on here before...

But hey, yours could be the one that changes things.

3066725 Thanks for the advice!

However, I would prefer if you had read the story first. You know, don't judge a fanfiction by it's cover and description and word count, and all that.

The main reason I made the chapters so short was because of the structure; I had a small chapter for each part of the song that directly correlated with the lyrics, and that meant that, while each chapter was shorter, there was a connection with the lyrics that was easily identifiable.

Hope that helps!

You know, don't judge a fanfiction by it's cover and description and word count, and all that.

I know, I usually don't anyways but that also may because I refuse to read most fanfiction--unless it is submitted to Twilight's library for review--anymore. What I meant was that people on this website WILL judge things by their cover, regardless of the content, and a ton of users make their decision to read then, or rate it and move on simply by glancing at what you present through your description and so on.

Again I am not saying your story is bad, it looks decently well-written enough, but the users on this site have seen countless shitty oc-based fanfics with minimal word counts per chapter, and from that have developed a kind of stigma towards stories sharing these similar attributes on their covers.

3074588 I thought the same thing. But then I read it, and I loved it! The chapter were short because of the style he wrote it in.

Dear sir/ma'am,

I would like to have your help with a project some time in the future in a style similar to this.
