My name is Oswald Mandus. I am many things. An architect, a businessman, a tinkerer. I am several things, and I admit 'monster' could be one of them. But I am also something far worse than a monster.
But what, you may ask yourself, is worse than being a monster? Well, I'll tell you. It's quite simple, really.
What's worse than being a monster, is being the secret-keeper to a greater monster.
Wow, you're not even changing the characters' names from their human ones. Come on, be creative.

My apologies, but "Oswald Mandus" is just... somehow very pleasing to my ears.
3264529 I understand, but everything has a place and a time. Oswald Mandus doesn't soundlike a name a pony without direct contact with humans would ever have if he wasn't self-entitled.
May I suggest Hoofwald Mandus?
... I don't know what to think. I don't like the idea of any of the Mane Six being villains, let alone Twilight Sparkle... but it's your story.

Not to be rude, but how did you end up here, exactly? I mean, if you don't like stories where the Mane Six are villains...how did you end up reading this one?

I took up an interest in Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs. I thought The Engineer, being Oswald's other half, was the villain, but I kept reading because, well... just because I don't like the idea of a Mane Six character as a villain doesn't mean it will be a horrid story, right?

This was written before the game came out: the idea being that when the game did come out, I could adjust the 'main' story to work the plot of the game in.

Ah... My bad, as the derpy one would say.
3390628
It's all right. You couldn't have known.
3390701
Hm... "Engineer" could be Oswald's pony name, right? XD
3390709
...
THAT'S BRILLIANT.
3390780
Well, it was his alias in the game, prior to the split... the other half could be "Machine".

Hey, does "Gaswield Industry" sound like a good Ponified name for him?
4446841 I was hinking more along the lines of "Progress", and him using Oswald Mandus as a nickname of sorts. A reversal of humans using mundane nouns for aliases, you know?
4446841 I enjoy the sound of both, but I find myself agreeing with you that the sound of Oswald Mandus is pleasing. (Perhaps it's because the name sounds deep)
