As Celestia and Luna have watched their kingdom, and Equestria as a whole, begin to grow, they send forth their best scientists and inventors to usher in a new age of technology by harnessing both steam and powerful magic. Airships decrease travel time over long distances, weapons see a jump from bows and spears to firearms and explosives, and cities such as Canterlot begin to nearly double in size.

However, unbeknownst to them, an advisement council under direct orders from the princesses known as The Order of the Skies has plans to bring Equestria into its true golden age. However, for this plan to come to fruition, the ruling sisters must be dealt with, and the true Princess must take the throne.
