I think some of the negative feedback is due to the presentation: the story has a 'BLARG HERE IS INFO' feel to it.
Basically, some smoothing out needs to be done to have it feel like a story, and less blocky/informative. Interesting idea methinks ^_^

I know the beginning is a tad infodump heavy, but to be fair, I am just introducing the characters. There will be a lot less of that in later chapters, trust me.
As for the negative feedback, I assume much of it is due to the story being, on the surface, basically about pony self-inserts. While they are based on me and my friend, I do intend to avoid making them Sues. They have flaws and make mistakes like the rest of us. I hope I succeed well in that regard.
