It's that time of year again. Like every other time she had experienced this anniversary, Celestia simply wishes to forget about everything, but some things cannot be simply forgotten.
Special thanks to Washingtonian for editing, and mondo thanks for Twilight_Crow for ripping it apart and fixing absolutely everything that was wrong.
Oh, and apparently, I did something good, because I was featured on the same day that I posted it. 8/29/13
Now that it was featured, i should add that I did not make the original coverart. It was made by this guy, for his own story, but, with permission, I took his image and used a photo editing app on my phone to change it to how I wanted it.

Despite being littered with misspellings, awkward word choices, a bit of screwy grammar, and missing spaces, this is a really good fic. I suggest you go over it a few more times and have someone else do the same to take care of the problems. There's just too many for me to go over here and I don't have the time.

Huh. Not bad.
However, I really feel like it could have been executed better. You went out of your way to make this story verbose and beautiful, but I think that seem more telling was needed, so it was more clear what was actually going on. As much as I wanted to get sucked into this story, there were so many sweet nothings being whispered into my ear that I found it frustrating.
The fact that I had to try is a bad sign. I think this could have been edited massively to reduce passive voice and general overly florid prose.
I get the feeling that you tried very hard to make this seem nostalgic, surreal, and dreamlike, but it fell a bit flat.
Still, this gets my upvote. Good work.

You did something here with the Sisters that sometimes people forget to do. Celestia knows how to rule. She can compose herself and put hurt aside when she needs, and that's clear when she lets a happy Luna go off with friends. And in the end, it's not her thoughts that overwhelm her that she can't stop. It's her dreams and her guilt, something subconscious. Princesses who are still ponies.
I really appreciated that you don't belittle forgiveness. With deep enough wounds, it's not something found in an instant. Luna's understated comfort and acknowledgement feels genuine. She cares. She's now a wiser pony as well.
There's a sort of dignity to that. You've got a great take on one of those old stories that have been with the fandom forever. Don't sell yourself short!
