I liked the story though you'd think that twilight having been through the same process, and her friends having seen something similar a year earlier would at least have a good guess as to what was coming when the light in the shape of RD's cutiemark appeared.

I could see this as canon... I mean, true, all mane 6 should be treated equaly.
Also, as my memory tells me, apparently Twilight is NOT going to outlive her 5 friends, so, either she is mortal OR all the rest of mane 6 turn into alicors in the end and thus we end up with a mane 6 immortal alicorns party of awesomeness.

This was great, both as parody and seriously! Even if the coronation definitely got out of hoof, the stuff leading up to it had a fair amount of genuine emotional impact.
Now I'm no fan of the alicorn Twilight, but after reading through and rolling my eyes for a bit, I thought "Screw it" and made this a favorite.
BTW, how many alicorn coronations does Equestria need to go through anyway? I'm mean, seriously. Who would want to go through that?
