Twilight's life takes on a different tint when she fails to pass her entrance exam for Celestia's School. As it turns out, there are other ways to serve her princess and country.
So far all the stories dealing with "Twilight doesn't find her destiny" skp straight to how the mane 6 are affected. I don't think any of them have explored how Twilight's life would have been different prior to that point. Its good to see that attempted.
So... is Twilight going to join the royal guard? That would be neat. Speculations aside, this is an interesting take on the whole 'no sonic rainboom' kinda story. Sure, the rainboom was there but it had no effect on Twilight
Poor Twilight though, seems like the principal and her parents are oblivious to her issues. You'd think that they'd provide suitable counselling for an older blank flank with a temper
This is an interesting idea, and I am interested indeed. It'll be neat to see how her life will progress from here on.
Also, the situation at Twilight's school sounds familiar. I've heard of this kind of thing before, and it rarely ends well. It's almost guaranteed that Twilight will get bullied or bullied even more now that she can't strike back the way she could before.
I'm hoping there's a happy ending for her down the line, though.
F#&k it Twilight, to hell with school! Go to streets, start a gang and become full supervillain! If anything you will be remembered as a magical Al Capone and you will have several movies and series inspired by your reign of terror! To tartarous with society.
Interesting. Perhaps this Twilight will learn something more of magic than just parroting whatever she thinks Celestia wants her to say. That blind hero-worship ruined her capacity for critical/creative thinking.
“There will be punishment, however.” She met Twilight’s defiant eyes. “We cannot allow magical bullying at our school. I’m....(told) ….by Mister Sagecrest that Twilight Sparkle is one of his brightest students in Magical Studies, so the punishment will certainly be fitting. I believe that, to ensure nothing like this happens again, Twilight Sparkle needs to learn that her magic is not a tool to bully others with. Therefore, while she’s on school grounds we will require her to wear a magical dampening ring. Naturally the cost for procuring it will not fall on the school.”
As her laughing wound down, Twilight caught on that last statement. She was talented for her age, but not talented enough . That was her problem. She was good at magic, but not good enough to get a cutie mark for it; good at school and studying, but not good enough to stay interested long enough to keep her grades up; too good at something for where she was, but not good enough to go where she wanted.
I did not expect to be called out like this when coming back to read
Oof, poor Twilight.
Really interesting idea here, I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

This looks really promising.
I knew it would pay off to read it right away instead of just read later-ing it.
I am looking forward to when the next chapter comes out. This is going on my read later list for sure and my favorites.
intrigued, looking forward to more
Very interesting premise.
I will be watching this.

I know its a bit early, but *musters up epic proportion puppy dog look* please oh please let twilight have a happy ending.
Anyway, good story and a unique approach, good job so far. :)

Isn't Twilight's mother Twilight Velvet, not Galaxy Glimmer? Interesting story.

It was published before she had a canon name! I might go back and retcon it eventually.
