A paramedic for a busy ambulance service saves a young girls life while on the job one day. Afterwards, a gift is given to him from the little girl that she says will "come in handy someday." He appreciatively takes the gift, but had no idea that the little girl was right... Now after an accident that should have ended his life, he wakes up in a world which seems to be his own. But he soon finds out differently.
Now, magically transported to Ponyville, he must learn how things are done and ultimately make this place his new home.

Slow is fine. If the chapter is good and explains backstory that is important to the plot you can move pretty much as slowly as you want and will be forgiven... Especially if there are more chapters out already.

I just want to question how when rainbow had her wing around him a few chapters ago and he thought ' no I can't have these thoughts, that would be cheating n my wife.' But now he has complete amnesia...

Your explanation has potential... But I would definitely like something more concrete. Perhaps combining your theory with saying that the ambient magic of equestria sapped his memory so that it goes with his new body. Or it could be the change itself and his new mind is rejecting the old memories and locking them away until he can accept he is in a new dimension... Or something.
