Mysterious fire devours the Everfree Forest, threatening a local settlement of Ponyville. But it is no ordinary fire and no ordinary mare is sent to investigate! Join Trixie, agent of the Conclave - an elite and covert congregation of unicorns sworn to protect ponies from magic and... magic from ponies, sometimes.

Will Trixie discover the cause of the fire?
Will she survive the hazards of the Everfree Forest?
Will she endure Twilight's Sparkle pestering presence?

It remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: if she does, she will not be the same...

I uploaded the revised version of my first published story. If you just got a notification about that, you are encouraged to read the new and shiny Edge of Reason.
:trollestia:To see how I have grown, to see what I have done...

"My name is Trixie Blackstone Copperfield Lulamoon. Conjure by it at your own risk. When things get strange, when what goes bump in the night flicks on the lights, when nopony else can help you, give me a call. I'm in the book."

Trixie is best Dresden, apparently!

The Greatest gets greater still.

That's a pretty smart raccoon, somehow managing to find Twilight, get her attention, and then take her all the way back to Trixie. Inversely, the possessed Diamond Dog didn't do a very good job of making sure Trixie was dead. Presumably the gem takes on the intelligence of its bearer, so Trixie would be a lot more formidable possessed by the gem than a Dog was.

Of course, it's just Trixie's luck that in both canon and fanfiction she's talented at finding cursed objects.

Huh, I'm surprised someone dug out this fossil of a story. Thanks for giving it a read!

6673521 Oh, I'm sure you get the occasional read.

The occasional comment, on the other hand, comes a lot less often :trollestia:

A Trilogy you say?:trixieshiftleft:

This is going to get interesting.:moustache:

First off, thanks for dropping by - it's always a funny feeling seeing someone read your very first story. Second, I'm afraid I never finished what I planned to be a trilogy (my writing has changed a lot since day one, my headcanon on Trixie and the stuff I want to write about evolved as well etc.), so you'll only get two out of three from this set.

Still, I've got a few other stories - some with Trixie, some with Twilight, and some with magical creatures. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy!

Most definitely.
I'll check them out.:rainbowdetermined2:

Oh, that's really disappointing. I'm glad to hear your writing has improved, though. Not that it was bad, necessarily...just unpolished. Well, I know this is the rewrite... There's room for improvement, at any rate. :twilightblush: Good luck!

EDIT: I just looked at your story list. I've read a few at least, and yes, you have improved tremendously ^u^

and yes, you have improved tremendously

Yeah, it's amazing what years of smashing my head against the keyboard have done! :rainbowwild:

Sorry that I never concluded this storyline. If you're looking for something similar in feel (as in "magical adventure"), then Dune Goddess or Arcane Realms should be right up your alley. Magic and more or less epic adventuring is the theme for both, and though neither has Trixie, the latter features her daughter - that's gotta count for something.

This was great!

I really dig the idea of Trixie being a secret agent. Good stuff!

Congratulations! You've earned the Honorary Archeologist badge for reading my oldest story. :rainbowwild: But seriously, I'm glad you liked it - I hope you'll enjoy some of my more recent works all the same. As for Trixie being a secret agent, well, that was an obvious choice. She and she alone has the greatness, powerfulness, and dramatic aptitude to pull off dangerous espionage stunts.
