This sort of thing is exactly the reason I feel the thousand-word minimum this site imposes nowadays is misguided. There's a bit of a black hole in the fandom where poetry should be. I do like "Equestria"; I think that's a particularly nice one.

598318 Personally, I'm in favor of a three hundred word limit, which would allow succinct scenes and jokes that currently require a bunch of padding to make 1000 words long. but understand that if the minimum were that low, dweebs like me would probably publish a story almost everyday and flood the site.
I'm too lazy to find it right now, but Bad Horse has a blog somewhere about how ideal story lengths are either under 600 words, or over 3000 or something. He pulled out some charts to test his views; results were murky.

Anyway, I think there was a 300-word limit at one time. If you go back far enough here, there are quite a few stories of just over that mark, but none below it.
If those are his figures, he's wrong. At least, for me. Almost all my stories lie between those two figures! :P

I came in search of FimFiction's shortest fics. I think I found it. Though it does make me sad that it's amongst a dead sea of cancelled fics and permanent hiatuses. I came to rejoice in the art of the pre-1000-word-limit stories, but all I'm left with are feels for the dead stories.

7645268 Me as well. I searched for the oldest story on the site, and was left with bittersweet memories of early FimFic. Now that I'm looking at the shortest stories, I'm sad at the number of stories that were gutted by their authors.
As far as the shortest "story" on the site goes, not bad. I like "Celestia," myself.
