Lovely and sweet. Now follow it with a story.

Very nice! We don't see nearly enough pony haiku.

I'm actually thinking of writing some myself now....

I see your're following that 5 7 5 thing... i remembered doing haiku in hisstory. This is what i did.(though not pony related)

Had i made the chance.
I would mix man and nature
For the quiet peace.

I just think i like poety, you did good hiku as Well!

I proclaim this to be the shortest actual story on FIMFiction.net, at 45 words.

This sort of thing is exactly the reason I feel the thousand-word minimum this site imposes nowadays is misguided. There's a bit of a black hole in the fandom where poetry should be. I do like "Equestria"; I think that's a particularly nice one.

492406 The shortest story is now a story of the OP exclaiming of how much a fag he is, clocking in at 23 words.

Times sure have changed.

:pinkiesad2: Beautiful. Now how in Equestria did you get this approved with only 45 words? :derpytongue2:

598318 Personally, I'm in favor of a three hundred word limit, which would allow succinct scenes and jokes that currently require a bunch of padding to make 1000 words long. but understand that if the minimum were that low, dweebs like me would probably publish a story almost everyday and flood the site. :applejackunsure: I'm too lazy to find it right now, but Bad Horse has a blog somewhere about how ideal story lengths are either under 600 words, or over 3000 or something. He pulled out some charts to test his views; results were murky.

5495280 Receiving a reply after 138 weeks may be some kind of record for me! :rainbowlaugh: Anyway, I think there was a 300-word limit at one time. If you go back far enough here, there are quite a few stories of just over that mark, but none below it.

If those are his figures, he's wrong. At least, for me. Almost all my stories lie between those two figures! :P

598318 I agree. I think 300 words is a nice compromise.

EDIT: oh shit I didn't scroll down! :rainbowlaugh:

7011454 That's a 198-week combined reply time to my two comments. If only you'd left it another fortnight! :rainbowlaugh:

You two had a conversation that's a 199 weeks in the making :rainbowlaugh:

This is currently the shortest story on fimfiction, that wasn't due to a word count error.

7524459 I'm pretty sure it must be, yes

I came in search of FimFiction's shortest fics. I think I found it. Though it does make me sad that it's amongst a dead sea of cancelled fics and permanent hiatuses. I came to rejoice in the art of the pre-1000-word-limit stories, but all I'm left with are feels for the dead stories. :fluttershysad:

7645268 I'm pretty sure it's the shortest work on here, although technically it's not a story.

7645553 You're right that it's not technically a story, but it is the shortest thing on the site which isn't an apology for taking the story down or an explanation of why everything has disappeared, hah.

And it does tell a story - as short as it may be - so imma count it. It was enjoyable!

7646460 I'm glad you liked it!

7645268 Me as well. I searched for the oldest story on the site, and was left with bittersweet memories of early FimFic. Now that I'm looking at the shortest stories, I'm sad at the number of stories that were gutted by their authors.

As far as the shortest "story" on the site goes, not bad. I like "Celestia," myself.

Brony - they're haiku. A long commentary would be longer than the poems.

Brony—they're haiku
A long comment'ry would be
Longer than the pœms
