Jerky costing 10$ Us a bag is not cool. I had cash so i still bought 2(Beef (yum)and Turkey). Then again it all depends on the cost of living of where ya live although let me say 10$ is too much for a bag of jerky in Texas(its not even a lot ,the dont fill the bag even half way up).

Aha! I was able to figure out the main character's full name. That was fun.

He wasn't sure how to take it, but he thought of a reasonable excuse nonetheless. “Alright, fine. Whoever left the note must have trained you.” He hesitantly began walking in the birds direction.

I love how kestral tries to deal with what he has been dealt with and rationalize its curious nature. Also i can't help but appreciate the subtle details you've thrown our way to guage the ability of our protagonist (that scene when he was playing with the machete).

The only element to the story that for me is a head scratcher is the equipment kestral is carrying with his person... I mean what the hell? I get why he needs the machete, considering he sometimes sleeps in the woods, but what's up with all of that firearm??? You'd think one would be enough for someone who's on the run and tries to keep a low profile... This part aside, i still find the chapter an enjoyable read. Great job sir :D

Herds are usually only mentioned in anthro stories in which the main character will end up gathering a large one that usually includes at least one of the Main 6 and a royal guard. This is rather refreshing: Neither a clopfic nor an anthro story.
