Learning of Trixie's fate, Twilight Sparkle travels to Unicornassus, where she finds the entire town under siege by a sociopath. With the town guard defeated and the danger growing by the day, can Twilight and Trixie join forces to defeat Charmcaster?
FiZ 3: Starscream (Crossover: Transformers G1/Beast Wars)

Pretty sweet magic mayhem going on here. Fairly gruesome for My Little Pony, but I can take it. The fights were nicely handled, if a bit abrupt in their ending. I was hoping to see a longer fight with the villain between Twilight and Trixie because they were so badass. But, you've got experience in them now, so go forth and refine what's there in any new stories you come up with!
It's always the unicorns that cause the most trouble. We need more earth and pegasus ponies to be the baddies one of these days.

2874547 I actually have extensive experience writing long, drawn-out shounen-anime style fight scenes and sports entertainment style fights. I'm dissatisfied with the length of these battles as well, but I didn't want to overdo it (some readers might be put off by a truly epic-length fight scene, where definitions of "epic" can exceed 20k words just for one fight scene), and I was trying to push the story out in one day to get it off my table. There will probably be a future revision which extends the fights and ties up some loose ends like Noble Sword.

During that final buildup (i.e., the gathering of the Elements and their Bearers to where Twilight was), I could hear this in my head, so I guess that means you're really good at this sort of scene.

that was epic. it really felt like a DBZ style movie with the serious tone and dark premise. Charmcaster really tore it up in that fight.

At some point I may go back in and expand the battle scene to make it more epic, but that's not going to be a priority anytime soon. Besides, I need to get chapter one of this thing out (Charmcaster is actually chapter 2 
) sometime in the next month or so.
Chapter 1 won't be quite as grim because the setup and imported character aren't as dangerous. Chapter 3 is going to be a LOT more intense than Charmcaster.
