Upon her defeat by the Elements of Harmony, Nightmare Moon is forced by Celestia to exist in a mortal Earth pony body and experience the mortal world she so despised. Nightmare Moon crosses paths with a Great and Powerful pony who herself is on her own journey of discovery. It's a nice little story, but you weren't kidding when you said that this was out of date. The later chapters I had to skim through, and that ending with Princess Twilight was almost completely irrelevant to the rest of the story.
Bringing it up to date should be fairly easy. You could squeeze in some "Magic Duel" references. Perhaps Luna cleverly connected Pinkie's dream to Night's. Change some names to reflect Trixie's full canon name, "Trixie Lulamoon". Have Discord laugh at her shocked expression upon seeing him free. These are just off the top of my head. However, I also get the impression that if you actually were interested in fixing it, you probably would've done it already.

This story was amazing, it was well written, thought out and rounded, and I loved your nightmare moon and trixie. But there was no mention of night in the last chapter!! But that is my only complaint, this was amazing thank you

Have more faith in yourself! It was still a great chapter and contributed to the story!! It was just with night being the most integral character I was wanting for details about her in the future. Did she stay friends with twilight? Would she reunite with Trixie? Aside from that this story was of very high quality, I'm very surprised its not much more popular

Thank you for the kind words. :) Nightmare Moon is actually one of my favorite characters and I've added her to most of the MLP things I've written. She is one of the supporting characters in Under Her Wing, in which she's co-princess of Equestria along with Celestia and Luna.
Nightmare's Dream I almost didn't upload as I felt it was my most amateurish, but Under her Wing I consider one of the best things I've written.

Ew. The only reason she keeps saying that is cause she seems all other magic bad. Also everyone turns all the villians to earth ponies. Not saying that changing someone's species or gender isn't bad in itself but the whole earth pony thing is just insulting. If you dont agree with me my other problem is my life and being being controlled by someone else just cause they have the power to. Be good and I might give you a different form? Unlike the ponies I don't break easily

If trixie weren't there she would have been doomed to fail. Dark coat ponies aren't welcome anywhere and the mane six would have chased her out instantly like trixie

Actually she runs her kingdom fine cannonwise. shes not Celestia but everything runs smoothly pretty much. It's also less censored.
