It's nice how there was a moment where Discord in his grief, almost took it out on the world, until Fluttershy's horde of butterflies cheered him up a little. The realistic behavior of the characters made this all the more enjoyable.

This alternate ending reminds me of Neil Patrick Harris in Dr. Horribles sing along blog. Where he ends up killing the girl of his dreams and instead of keeping his promise and doing good he goes all out evil and says he doesn't feel a single thing anymore. Anyways fantastic story. Quite the emotional rollercoaster.
I come back to read this every so often, I have only found one other story that made me cry as much as this one made me. That story was "My Little Dashie", but you sir have truly shown my heart true sadness and I will never be the same again and for that I thank you. Never let anyone tell you that you haven't done anything, this story has changed my life. And that is something that very few can say.
Those we lose are never truly lost, they're just somewhere else, waiting for us to find them.
I read the first ending, I cried.
I read the second ending, I smiled.
I read this ending.... and my brain exploded.

I like how Discord tries so hard to be a good friend but ends up coming off kinda awkward/creepy.
This makes you think about how often Fluttershy has to deal with losing her pets...
I don't think Fluttershy should feel obligated to justify Discord's past though. They may be friends now, but she and the Mane 6 were obviously seriously hurt by the stunt he pulled back then.

I think Discord turned insane after losing Fluttershy. Sunny would turn insane if her friends killed Nightcloud. SHE WOULD KILL EVERYONEEEE!

Buuut, there is always my other story, Pull Me Through, which is almost-sorta-maybe a sequel to this story! Though, it is based on the original ending rather than the twisted one or the sad one.
I can not stop crying....

Ive read many fanfics from this site that have made me laugh, several that have saddened me, and many ive regret reading, but this one story alone is the only one ive encountered that has made me cry actual tears.

I dont think i stated last time i read this but these chapters were absolutely marvelous i could feel the sorrow emanating from discord and his complete shock at Fluttershy being a ghost as well as the other mane 5. This was Beautiful! Excuse me to wipe away my tears 😭🙂
