Dinky Hooves is a very unique pony. While her mother was a pegasus, her father was a being known as a Time Lord that looked like an earth pony. As a filly, she was just like a regular unicorn.
Until one day she learns first unleashes a magic like nothing almost any other pony has seen and gets her cutie mark. Once that happens, the unicorn must figure out not only how to control her powers, but find a balance in herself. Fortunately, she might just have helpful inspiration from a hero.

This story seemed very hollow at times, and I disliked how you would give us an idea of upcoming events, then skip right over them.
I know you said this is an origin story for Dinkys run as MMDW but this format works a lot better if you already have the MMDW story
Also, screw you for killing off Derpy, Dinky could have paused her, or figured out reverse time, or had an emotion-based magic surge, possibly with time reversing consequences.
Or at least been given a more detailed or prolonged emotion description because the 'vibe' I got from here afterwards was,
"My mum is dead. I am sad"
Next chapter (well maybe more than one later)
"I am fine now"
She could have a picture with/near her or in the room she stays at, and reflect upon it now and again.
Or have a source of motivation, a type of
'Would momma be proud of me, what would she do?'

Yes. It does look grey to me. Admittedly, there is a purple tint to it, but it is still primarily gray. Which, in a roundabout way the mlp wiki about her agrees. So perhaps you are the one with the visual issue between us. Even if I did agree with you about it, I am not going to go back to a story I wrote two years ago, read through it, and change every reference to Dinky's color.

Her eyes are of the standard adult mare model, rather than the filly one.
