Coronet the lesser

"Writing is easy. All you do is stare at a blank sheet of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead." ~Gene Fowler

T

Trapped within his stone prison yet again, a lone god reflects upon the world he inhabits. His thoughts soon turn to revenge against those who have humbled him and the superficial idea of "order" they have created. Yet he understands, all things must end.

My first written fanfic. Wrote it ages back before season three but after the wedding episode. A short analysis of our loveable Lord of Chaos' view of world had he been a wee bit more unstable.

Criticism is widely appreciated and comments are welcomed.

No Discord.

Chaos is NOT a wonderful thing.

500 points from anyone who thinks otherwise.

I realize that comes off a little harsh, but honestly, after watching his debut episodes...no. I can't see why I should "sympathize" with him, find him funny... even if he's portrayed as crazy or otherwise. You might read a blog entry of mine and wonder why I clicked on this then...I wanted to give this a chance, see if it was any different from the other "Discord sealed up and thinking" fics and...

Nope. You can hide behind the fact "chaos is masked and I want to unleash it to teach the ponies how fragile they really are" and "Celestia's a tyrant and sealed me because of this and not because I'm actually a tyrant and she's not". It isn't going to cut it when you make people miserable for your own amusement.

Well written and points for the grim dark towards the end

2803275 I can understand your view. This was written when I still believed Discord was a slightly derangded sociopath. Because of this he tries to justify his actions under the pretense that he is doing everyone a service.

This is an example of really brilliant thinking. It could use just a little more punctuation, but I think it's really insightful and it made me feel a little bit crazy myself in a couple of places. I was impressed how well it swept me away.

Especially since I never thought of Discord as particularly dark, and yet this fit him really well.
