This is really a delightful little side story.
I truly love the narrative voice that it has and the overall narrative tone. Technically, it's a little comma heavy here and there which disrupts things from the particular flow you have going on but they're not too bad. I liked the characters, Flapjack being especially amusing. I shall make it a point to check out A Matter of Interest to see what else you have done with this 'verse.
The only critique I have for the content is in the making of the pancakes themselves. I have a recipe for making wonderful, fluffy pancakes nearly on the order of what Flapjack makes here (which can be shared upon request) and the secret to them is twofold; separate and whip the whites before folding into the batter at the end, and then leave the batter for 30 min for the baking power to do its job. The end result is rich, fluffy pancakes. As you have Flapjack preparing the griddle before preparing the batter, the resulting batter will not have any time to rest and the baking soda in it will have no time to do its job, resulting in pancakes that are nowhere near as fluffy as they could be.
But that's a quibble and does nothing to distract from the overall piece. Thank you for a delightful read this morning.

Thanks for the comment, since it didn’t seem like anyone particularly cared for this one. You won’t see that much more of Flapjack, unfortunately, although I personally blame him for all of this. The story he originally appeared in was supposed to be a one-shot; look where we are now.
More's the pity. As I said, the narrative voice you have for this is just absolutely delightful.
It's stumbling across neglected gems like this that make poking around the archives so worth while.

Headcanon accepted. This was really cute, and I'm definitely going to use this as Fluttershy's job from now on. It makes much more sense than a veterinarian or owner of an animal shelter.
