I read that Sunset Shimmer used to be the student of Celestia not long before Twilight Sparkle. Which means that it had to be what, less than a year or so. And Sunset Shimmer and Flash Sentry had met since middle school which means that Sunset left Equestria like, 2 years ago? What do you think?

It does seem kinda vague to be honest, but at the end of the movie Sunset Shimmer said she didn't know there was another way, she was lonely, she had no friends and she had just lost the not only her friend, but the guy she loved. I don't understand how stealing a crown and taking over Equestria gets you friends, but Sunset Shimmer must know.

Didn't see this one until now.
The portal opens once every 30 moons (2.5 years) But Sunset left before Twilight became Celestia's student so for all we know she could have been in Grade School in this other world too.
I'm exited for it to come out on DVD *I've been up all night watching and reading about ponies btw*

I know I'm a bit late by 3 years but the reason in this Sunset cared for Flash was because this was done before Rainbow Rocks. Upload date is back in 2013 Rainbow Rocks came in 2014 I know because I still have my movie ticket for it. The original Equestria girls was the only Equestria girls movie made back when this was uploaded.
I really like the idea that sunset used to be nice, and let’s face it in the beginning of the story she was adorable
