The year is 2126 Celestia’s Reign, and ponykind has reached for the stars. Having been able to relish 27 years of constant peace since the end of the Great Griffin War, the quality of life have vastly improved for all. Many new worlds have been colonized, and the population has soared into the billions. However, things never go peacefully for long. When one of Equestria’s colony worlds loses contact with the Homeworld, dark rumors start to spread of an impending invasion, and Captain Echo Sparkle, as well as the crew of the E.S.C. Twilight Sparkle are caught in the middle of them.

Okay, this chapter is far too short. It feels like a snippet, not a full chapter.
Now, I've been looking for stories like this. I like what I'm seeing, but quite frankly there isn't enough for me to really judge. I'll come back to it when there are more chapters.
The Coalition of Nations didn't seem like an effective organization, given that the other nations of the CON didn't come to the military aid of the Zebra Union when they should have and stopped the Griffin Kingdom right there and then.
In fact, NONE of the nations supported one another, making them easy prey for Gilda.
There would have been a lot less death and destruction if the nations of the CON had stood up to the Griffin Kingdom.

Take it slowly. Don't bite more than you can chew. Try incrementing the word count by a few hundred every chapter. For example, the 5th could be 1200, the 6th could 1450, the 7th 1600, etc.

I see that this story is listed in the "Other" folder of the Star Trek Ponies group.
While it does feature a space navy vaguely similar to the Federation Starfleet, I fail to see what this particular story has to do with Star Trek.
Are you planning to have Trek elements appear in later chapters?
