I was a bit nervous about reading this story given the tags and description...but so far, I think I'm going to be okay. The focus on the emotional impact of the dark events rather than on the events themselves draws me in emotionally without giving it a horror element that might otherwise push me away.
Wish I'd read this long ago. If I had, I'd probably have been bugging you for more chapters for a while now.

I'd say your characterization here is spot on.
Luna is motherly in her dreamwalking, which is how I always interpreted it. Jetstream's slow adjustment and finding something to smile about is identifiable, and the mane 6 who have appeared all seem themselves - everything from Rarity's gossiping to Rainbow's fangirlism to AJ's little slips with the language felt very real. If not for the fact that this is too dark of material for a children's show, I would have genuinely thought I was watching an episode. And Pinkie struck that perfect balance between overexuberance and self control. Very few can manage that in writing.
...really wish I'd read this when I first saw the story.

Nope! I have had some crazy things happened to me these past year, and with my new job, my hours have been a little crazy lol. These days, between balancing work, family, martial arts, and fitness, I haven't had a lot of free time to write. but now that I have to slow down a little, I should have more time to write. I am almost finished updating one of my stories, & I have already started a rough draft with this one. I cannot tell when it will be published then ready to host, but it is coming.
