This is a very intersting take from the Last of Us.
In the game, the Goverment/Military is seen as a evil, but a nesecarry one to keep the population alive. So while people dislike them, it was not out right hate as people feels they are needed. In this story, the current goverment is just plain evil like the Galactic Empire that people would be glad to be rid off, especially in favor for the rebels trying to return the goverment to what it once was.
Meanwhile the Fireflies are good guys in the game hoping to return the world as it was, but one people hate as they are seen as trouble. Especially as safe zones collapse because of their rebellous acts. I would go so far to state that only group of people hated more then the Fireflies were the Hunters, especially if you listen to Rick and his brother tone when he speaks about the Fireflies with distain. In this story, the rebels under Twilight are just veiwed as good and it would be intersting to see how you take them as I like this approach.
I really like how your are doing a story that is not a carbon copy, but a differnt take for it is a story set in a differnt type of people and I hope you continue this excellent story. Though I wonder how the infection effect other creatures like grifions and such and see/hear what they are doing to fight it or in some cases failing to fight it.
Why was this cancelled? I.. I need more... I need this to continue! Someone needs to continue this story!
