This is so messed up..... Yet so awesome.
This is just my opinion, but y'know what this needs? An alternate ending. Preferably splitting off after chapter 3, where maybe Twilight catches on to Spike's odd behavior and they have a really complicated talk about it all to figure out how to solve this problem, leading to a happy end. Or at least happier than this.

8036 I agree. Some people are hatin' on the grimdark aspect, which really only comes in at chapter four, i think. Spring for a somewhat happy ending, and everyone'll be happy. Also, add a link in to the altered ending at the top of chapter four, and warn that the ending below is grimdark, and nobody can complain.

I wouldn't so much want an alt ending as much as an epilogue following Ch 4's events. Just curious to see how everyone else took it. Especially Applejack who was last seen furious and probably planning on beating the crap out of him.

by the way just love the way you describe everything on the most "disturbing" scenes, makes them feel lively (don't really know if I'm using the right term for this), and I really got high expectations on you as writer

8617 I much appreciate it sir!! An epilogue is an idea that does intrigue me, a lot more than the alt-ending everypony keeps clamoring for. People should know how the others reacted and what happened in the following days. School is pretty busy for me right now and I'm busy conceptualizing my third fic, but I might have to make some time to write an epilogue. Thanks for the idea metaxzero, and thanks to you as well Gsbrill!!
I look forward to the epilogue I hope you write. It's an opportunity to flesh out your characters more on their feelings for life in Ponyville. For instance, not that you feel the same way, but I don't feel as though Twilight has the kind of personality to move on from something like this.
It may very well halt her emotional growth and leave here in a permanent stage of self-pity and blame for what has happened.

So I read this, all the way through, and I think, "Yeah, that's sad, but it didn't really hit me that hard."
2 hours later I still feel depressed and all I can think about is Twilight sobbing uncontrollably. Y-Y And then I cried. I also want to add my vote for, yes, we need some sort of follow up to this. Especially as regards how this effects AJ and Twilight's relationship.

You're story was amazing, it was more psychological then smut (to me anyway) and i think you did a good job. would like an epilogue.
thedood64. That sounds like it would shift the tone of the whole fic into a dark and sadistic comedy or just an anti-Spike fic. An epilogue could do the same thing without beating Spike further. Unless what you want is Spike getting kicked when he is down more then the reactions of everyone else to Spike's actions.

I wasn't that impacted by the ending perhaps because of the lol that broke the tension for me, and I read a comment that spoiled the story.

Somehow I as soon as I saw the title I knew I would regret reading this... But the description, the title, and the comments make it so horrifically compelling that I must!
I like the whole grimdark genre, but I just wish that the ending wasn't so abrupt. I'd've liked to have had the characters figure out why spike suicided, and come to terms with his problem.
Wow. That's all I really can say as a reaction. That and "Dang." Excellent story. Ending was spoiled on another site for me too but I just had to read it. Kinda sad that Spike died considering he's one of my two favorite characters but since it's just a story and not real I'm not super sad. 5/5 from me for emotional-ness and great writing

An epilogue is being made dealing with how the other characters viewed Spike's suicide and his actions before then. Just letting you know.

YOU KNOW, IDEA! maybe insted of doing an alt. ending or somethin like that... you can make an epilouge of something btwn twilight and applejack...maybe even rarity.

I've never cried for something except pony fanfic named "My Little Dashie".
Spike is my favorite character, he reminds me... of me...
