Fallen Kindness

A thousand years ago, the Elements of Harmony began to drift apart after Discord's fall; each Bearer in turn was corrupted, and fell, until only Sunny Skies - Celestia - remained untainted. That's what should have happened - and what did.

A thousand years ago and a timeline away, however, Sunny Skies was a bit more flexible when Chrysalis Fell...and realized that maybe the Element of Generosity hadn't fallen far enough to not be followed.

I'd love a sequel as this universe promises to be most interesting. but if no sequel in comming Know this. That I fully support this fic as a true work of art. also Celly hasn't really fallen, she has just gained a new path. Think in greys

Very interesting. However, I don't really see how kindness "fell". I'd say completely abandoning the nymph would be less kind than staying with the hive.

My idea of falling when it comes to the Elements mainly comes from the idea of Discord being the Element of Laughter. When he fell and sent the world into chaos - like he does in the show when he escapes - he's having a blast, and basically going along with the Element, but he's being completely selfish and amusing only himself. Sunny here is going along with her Element - staying with the nymph instead of abandoning it - but she's staying with the nymph because she wants what her friends have, and being selfish - and thus falling.

I hope that makes as much sense as it did in my head

EDIT: sort of the idea of "the ends don't justify the means". Sunny is being kind, in the end, but not out of the goodness of her heart - out of jealousy.

I like this take on what it means to be an Element Bearer: That, once chosen, you're sort of locked in to your Element, even if you can't wear it anymore. That's the funny thing about the Dark Side:

You often don't realize you're walking down it until you're past the point where return seems possible. In for a penny, in for a pound, as they say.
