actually wanted her to get captured, and had Shining's guards replaced. She is the manipulator her, after all.
Ah, the wonders of changeling impersonation. Roughly half of all fanfics with changelings end up paranoid, "pod people"-esque mysteries where you can never be sure who is and isn't replaced. (The other half is "renegade changeling tries to find a new life among the ponies" stories. Good stuff.) My favorite was the one where the entirety of Ponyville - including the Mane 6, Luna and many inanimate objects - turned out to be changelings working at cross-purposes.
I'm being glib, of course. Story is being entertaining still. Will be interesting to see how they get out of this, though.

2658639 I can't say I'm familiar with the specific story you mentioned, but one changeling story I really like is called "Changeling's Story." Yeah the title isn't too original, but it's about Twilight being turned into a changeling queen and taking over Ponyville. It's really cool! Anyways, I'm glad you're enjoying it so far!

2661927 To be honest, I figured that this story takes place sometime between the Equestria Games inspector episode and Twilight becoming an alicorn. That way there's been a decent amount of time for the changelings to recover from their defeat and get some infiltration going.

Shit, things are getting heated but please for the love of Luna, don't make it so Chrysails just decides to be the good pony all of the sudden, she's lived for eons, she knows how mortals are and as a Goddess she bound to be quite prideful and doubtful, besides such a change takes a very long time to develop, it'd be like Cadence becoming evil all of the sudden once she realizes she has an entire kingdom under her command, she's the Princess/Goddess of Love and that the Crystal Empire is not a part of Equestria, it may last a few years if she does but it has to be thought of carefully and with very good reason, though it is possible, Gods like to repeat themselves just like mortals

Thank you for this story -it was a fun, well-written, enjoyable little romp with a lot of heart. The fact that it involved some of my favortie characters in multilayered ways, offered villans a chance for redemption, and kept the underlying message that friendship is magic only added to my appreciation.
