Ah the Trail of Tears I see where you got that from. So are there just Super Mutants or also Alicorns? Also I hope he finds that filly soon and hope that she's safe, good chapter again

such joy was felt. going to enjoy reading this tomorrow!
Woo that was a good read looking forward to what happens next!.
I love this story.
A lone, singular mistake I found; Wildfire mentions she went on a 'resonances' flight, not a 'reconnaissance' flight, but spelling-wise, that's it.

Yes, there are Alicorns, however at this time in the Wasteland they're not as wide spread as they are in Little Pip's time. They're still largely located along the east coast being complete d bags to everypony who doesn't have a horn. At least the Borg weren't so racist.

Indeed, ask and ye shall receive. Still working on the mana from heaven and turning water into Pepsi.
Hope it was worth the wait!

Huzzah! The chapter I was unpleased with has pleased my readers!! In the end, that's really all that matters to me.

Yay! More praise.
Boo spelling mistake.
Hooray beer!
Wait... I hate beer...

Dang it. Given how long I took editing, I should have caught that.
TWO DAYS, but I finally finished reading. Dang you write some long ones. ...Or I'm just too busy.
Finally getting some backstory to that haunted bank vault! And Shadow just might get a fancy eyepatch!
I caught up after a week of on and off reading and now to write everything I believe is going on to give you a readers perspective should you so want it;
The voices, Luna and Discord are my guesses due to the cover art and text colour though I could be completely off here and they appear later. What I am wondering is why is Luna's voice in his head? The shotgun/badge may be a soul jar but all else is coming up blank. Discord was from the bank opening is all that I can come up with, but these dreams are interesting, I get that they are just being used as a sub plot to give us background and hopefully develop into a main plot because, as much as I love Shadow, I think he needs a focused goal in mind rather than "Save em' all" or "Complete raider genocide" and keep that as an active priority.
Hmmm, the ghouls are a worrying factor at the moment, too long in the ash and now your ready to join them in their unlife or could they possibly just be the spirits of the Dead Forest standing vigil? I like the concept of either but I can't form an opinion until the next chapter as to the lack of information currently.
This Brotherhood of the End cult? I'm not liking the sound of them, I get the feeling that our Heroes and their theories about them are wrong (Exposing to radiation etc) but I do get the feeling they have a peaceful relationship with the mutants (Ever seen a mutie's head explode at over 500 metres? Hell of a mess) and hand off those they kidnapped to them. I'm really unsure though, FEV is already in play for the Alicorn's so it may not be a fucked up Stable experiment, you have a lot of ways you can go with this.
One of my favourite parts of this chapter is Shadow actually speaking to Carrion and joking around, no offense intended but I have seen little in the way of those two being social outside of tactics or in combat and I'd like to see more character development.
The Dead Forest, I'm wondering here if you got the name from Metro 2033 where Moscow is called "The Dead City" or if it was just accidental, but enough on that and onto the forest itself.
I'm really liking the idea of the paranormal and "The dead are resentful" stuff going on here and the idea that although spirits are in most places of the wasteland and may not be active these ones are for whatever reason; resent that all their hardwork (lumber) has been completely destroyed?
Man I'm liking the entire concept really and want to hear more on it.
Shadow the martyr, if he turns into a ghoul I will be interested, I don't believe I read a fic where the main character become a ghoul or even starts as one.
One thing I'm unsure about is the places that Shadow are going to go, we know he completely skipped out on the power station lab thing underground, but we've been hearing a lot about Steel Fuckwads and how they want to get into the San Ponsisco, no news on an encounter and there may not be one but same could possibly go for Super Mutants, the Brotherhood of the End and only a brief stay in Kanter City without learning much about Madeyes.
This story is going to have to be long to include conflicts and solutions to each group like finding out about the Frankensteins, how to stop them etc.
This story can go in so many directions from Janestown and I'm really not sure with, that's a good thing.
I'm looking forward to your next chapter.
Many little pokes and shoutouts I loved here, the writing, fun and interesting. And I hope you are doing well muse wise to continue this gem.

Yarr, then I's can turns this intos a pirate Fallout story rather than a western, yarr.
I'm sure Wild would be all for the eye patch since she'd claim it'd make him extra sexy.

But that goal works so well for pokemon! No wait... that's catch'em all. Yes, kill'em all and save'em all is a rather common theme in the FoE stories, which isn't to say that's a bad one. To be honest it was the original theme for my story, and still is for all of Act 1 and the opening chapters of Act 2. It also plays a role in later Acts, but there's another theme coming up as well. I'd say it'll be showing up soon.
You'll indeed get your answers to your questions about the ghouls in the next chapter. It should've been in this one, but time restraints and chapter length forced me to cut it out.
As for Shadow and Carrion, yeah I agree beyond fighting and planning out fights they don't really speak a whole lot to one another. Of his friends, I feel Shadow and Carrion have the most in common, and I see them as two sides of the same coin. Shadow the young pony out to protect those who can't and Carrion the old stallion who died trying to do just that.
Brotherhood of the End, they'll be mentioned off an on throughout the story, and may have a larger role later on but I haven't decided just how large beyond what I already have planned for them.
No, didn't get the name from metro 2033, as I've never played that game myself. I have a friend who tells me I should since I enjoyed Fallout so much.
I'm glad your enjoying the story and I was very happy to see your review of it in such detail! Hope to hear more from you in the future!
Oh, and btw... Word Bearers are better than Alpha Legion. :P
Well... not really, almost painted my chaos marines up to be them.

Doing well now that I'm over the flu and over the rewrite of chapter 20, hopefully it'll be smoother sailing from here on out.
3498731 Haha, I honestly prefer pre-chaos Alpha Legion. Long live the twentieth!
Kinda sad when they're the closest to being killed off in the chaos side at the moment, but hey, they still have Alpharius or Omegon out, they're simply plotting at the moment on how to properly eradicate chaos (If you don't know where I'm coming from here, you should wiki Alpha Legion).
Word Bearers? I don't know if you like em pre-chaos or current, they seemed noble enough pre-chaos and from what I've seen Lorgar joined the Horus Heresy due to Emperor not wanting to be a god.
Definitely check out Metro, it might not seem it at first and maybe you'll run into some trouble but its more... Atmospheric, than Fallout. I've been playing through NV again, welcome to the Sierra Madre!
