Trapped on an long-dead world, the ponies of SG-1 accidentally awaken an ancient, dormant evil. With their lives at risk, they must team up with some unlikely allies if they are to survive and save the galaxy from destruction. What they find uncovers a story stretching back to the origins of their entire species.

A reimagining of the Stargate SG-1 story, set within the My Little Pony universe.

WTF, how has a Stargate story been on the website for 24 hours already without me knowing about it? :raritydespair:

COMMENCE READING!
theaveragegamer.com/wp-content/Game%20Art/DS%20Hands/trauma-center-under-the-knife-lets-begin.jpg

Okay, a few things:

1) Yay, Unas! (ok, I had to put this as #1 because... well, you know why, :ajsmug:)

2) Ooh, that dialogue; that pacing! Excellent work here! The first chapter reads so close to a real episode of SG-1 half the time I had to remind myself to picture the team as ponies and not the actual cast of the show.

3) Jesus Monte Cristo on a Saltine Cracker; someone remembers Zipacna! :pinkiegasp:

The obvious attention to detail you put into merging the Stargate universe's lore with the FiM world makes me believe that this is going to be one hell of a ride, :raritystarry:

Before I proceed any further I have to comment on the picture. It honestly looks like a mousegate (-;

This should be interesting.

Jack shrugged. "Well, Zipacna should arrive eventually," he said. "Maybe he'll give us a lift."
"A lift," Daniel said.
"Sure. Why not."

This right here is classic Jack/Daniel interaction.

This is Actually a great story. (Surprisingly) Ponified SG-1 has had somewhat of a bad idea to me as it would actually sour the series. But this has done a great job of slightly rewriting SG-1 without ruining it. The ONLY problem is one in every MLP story and more so here, cause I can't see SG-1 saying it (or anyone for that matter). Its the "everypony" instead everyone, which sounds dumb cause its like us saying everyhuman. <- (sounds dumb, doesn't it.) plus, The MLP (unnamed) world has multiple sapient species so you would think "everyone" would work better.

I rant.

also, MORE!!

And the plot thickens...

So far this has been an excellent story. So far it actually feels like I am reading something from the actual show Stargate SG-1, particularly the interactions of the pony SG-1 which feels very similar to the real ones.

I am highly concerned that the presence on the planet is Celestia with something akin to PTSD. It would make sense given the history we know. I wager that in the past Celestia was possessed by the Goa'uld that she had restored to health, was forced to watch as Ra used her own hooves to destroy her people's civilization and replaced it with a dark mockery where he is worshiped, somehow she is free and in her fury causes enough destruction to scare away the rest of the Goa'uld.

Man I want to read more.

I agree. Hopefully like SG-1 this story will just keep going and going and going...
This site needs more (good) Stargate.

<-- Waiting for Starburst to get a snake in the head,

5356590 Arvaus has it at about 70,000 words right now

When the Jaffa offered SG-1 help, I started thinking thats reeeallly out of character (or pony helpfulness, but then, NOPE they get captured. Good ol' Jaffa.

This is turning out to be a GREAT story. a ponified SG-1 utilizing Pony lore combined with that of Stargate's? Hard to do. But this guy has done a great job (so far). He has also capture SG-1's personalities well. Why do I only get one Thumb?! I NEED MORE thumbs.

On one note, I have yet to hear Teal'c say his iconic "Indeed."

Current theories

1.Discord has something to do with the twilight.
2.The sun and moon are frozen due to a lack of an entity to move them.
3.The Goa'uld that crashed took host of one of the Celestial sisters.
4.Or Goa'uld killed Celestial sisters.
5.one of the The sisters of Discord killed Ra and his army
6. SOmething ELSE happened and we have yet to find out.

5375246 I can confirm that at least one of those options is correct. Quite possibly 6.

5374629
5356590
To clarify, the story is fully drafted, having been done during NaNoWriMo, so that's the finished length. And given how FimFiction counts words, it'll probably be closer to 80,000 on here.

OK, you have cut down my theory that Jaffa are only Earth Ponies. I had half expected that the Goa'uld would have established a sort of "value rank" based on the perceived usefulness of each pony tribe, and other races of Equestria. Earth Ponies, Donkeys, Griffons, Zebras, Minotaurs, and Diamond Dogs being used as base servants with Jaffa variants serving as soldiers. Pegasi and Unicorns, with their more obvious magical abilities, would have greater value and be the desired hosts of the Goa'uld.

Still trying to figure out how Dragons would have worked in there, or if a Goa'uld could even take over the mind of a dragon? I mean bodies that can survive lava, flight, fire breathing, armored scales, long life spans, and the greatest size and strength make them the most logical choice for a System Lord next to the Alicorns. But would a Dragon's physiology be too much or too strange for a Goa'uld? And could they control an adult dragon whose brain is probably the size of a pony?

Anyway, rare to see such intelligent Jaffa, or to be more precise, Jaffa capable of such trickery. Love to see where that is going with SG-1 being trapped.

The fire wall seems to strengthen my idea of Celestia, but then again that could just be bait to lead us readers down the wrong trail. Discord is still in the running. But Luna's potential has also increased because of Sam's dream. Damn, there more I think about it, the more possibilities there are. About the only one I feel I can discard is Twilight, because you already confirmed she was dead.

Somehow this feels appropriate, :moustache:

Well now, isn't this interesting.

Wait... Ra Imprisoned Celestia and Luna in the sun and moon respectively. Although Celestia got her payback. Now, there is something the Jaffa are looking for, and it happens to be one of the super artifacts from old. (Elements of Harmony, Crystal heart, ect...)

EPIC THEORY!

5408038
The way Arvaus wrote the Jaffa's explanation, it sounded more like the System Lords believe Ra died because of an powerful yet unstable device, only Koresh and Ro'shur believe they have found not an artifact, but a demon.

So now there are at least two time bombs that SG-1 is sitting on. First, how long before the firestorms get through the ship's hull? Second, how long before the Jaffa turn on them? Are there any others I am missing?

5409102 How long before Celestia Ra'Shek comes after them if they try to leave?

Ahh yes. More reasons to hate Ra. First, he's willing to commit genocide. Then he goes and kills my favorite character. For someone who is a major fan of the show, this is really portraying Goa'uld very well. CONTINUE.

An update?
And there was much rejoicing.
Followed by much lamentations.

Man, John DeLancie is 0 for 2 against the Goa'uld, :applejackconfused:

You still haven't parted the Red Sea Sam! No reruns until you get a new act!

How are they planning to get to the gate? The cargo ship is out; the Ha'tak isn't likely going anywhere... can they remote-dial it from the ship's command deck, or is Sam going to MacGuyver something else (see whut I did thar, :trollestia:) once she gets on board?

Can't wait to find out! :pinkiehappy:

I know I've said it before but it bears repeating: This story so perfectly mimics the flow and feel of an episode of SG-1 that it's almost scary. I continue to have moments where I forget I'm reading about ponies at all and have to stop and remind myself that I'm not reading the script of an episode that never aired, and that is frankly amazing, :pinkiehappy:

Character development!
And the plot thickens...

Get in line to worship Carter? Hmm... Samanthacorn. I approve of this.

I still don't know why I keep delaying reading these chapters. They are just so awesome.

I love Koresh's summary of SG-1. 'See all-powerful force? Come up with a plan to destory it.' All in a days work for SG-1. They really demonstrate the principles of 'Knowledge is Power.'

Right in the feels!
So this is the Princesses' slow fade, how they went from who they were to whatever they are now. Great chapter.

Corona Blaze. Blowing up Goa'uld fleets with the power of the sun before it was cool.
th07.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2013/146/0/b/mlp__fim___nightmare_sun_by_dsonic720-d66qe01.png
Oh Damn... Corona Blaze + the network wide gate dialing = Epic Kill

Sam is so worthy of being the next Student of the Princess. Either princess.

YES! YES!
I mean what happened to both Celestia and Equestria is terrible, but YES!

Well lets see here... we've got the Elements presumably still on board the ship in orbit, and Luna presumably about to pop out of her exile who may be able to help them get back on board... and we've got four members of SG-1 and two Jaffa who are kinda-sorta coming around to a different point of view...

... I see where this might be going, and I like it, :rainbowdetermined2:

Are they? Are they really? Last time they reintegrated. Granted, they had shards to work with... maybe control crystals acting as a catalyst?

Hmm... Jack as Laughter, Teal'c as Loyalty, Daniel as Kindness, Ro'shur as Generosity, Koresh as Honesty and Sam as Magic/Friendship?

5600252
Yeah, I'm not buying it either. The Elements are like Schwartz Rings:

:twilightoops: Princess, the Elements of Harmony were destroyed!

:trollestia: The Elements are bupkiss! I picked them off some tree I found in the woods! The Harmony is within you, Twilight Sparkle!

:facehoof:

Well this is getting Interesting. Well, really just adding to the already really interesting and good Story.

Also, needs more of Teal'c's "Indeed". And Hammond of Texas, Bra'tac, Fraiser, and some of the other main characters.

AND MORE THUMBS UP!!
(currently two idiots put thumbs down.)

5600992
I also have my own speculation going, but that seems possible. At least literally.

I don't know if the elements will reform or not, but I do believe they will be able to tap into the greater system of magic that the Elements received their power from. Possibly forging new Elements (with different values) as Equestria itself is practically remade. Or that's my theory.

Considering this is Stargate based I believe SG-1 will win, but the question is "how much will they win?"

"The sun moved," Sam said.

You know, normally, saying something like that would be terrifying. In this situation? It's absolutely terrifying. Celestia broke out, and she's got a couple thousand years worth of grudges to air out. Sadly, unlike bad smells, fire burns more in air.

And once again I must say; your dialogue is amazing. You sure you weren't one of the script writers for Stargate?

My god! Its Corona Flare... I mean the Ra'Shek!

Jack's banter was quite amusing. Luna came in like a boss. And the transition to heart stopping drama and action was very fluid.

OK, moving stars.... Has the canon SG-1 gone against anything as scary as that? ......Aside from the time they opened a stargate to a planet that was being consumed by a Black Hole. ......Or the time Anubis had a fleet above Earth with only the Prometheus to defend it. .....Or the time SG-1 spent about 50 trapped in a time bubble with a beam of death just meters away from destroying their ship.

NOOOOO!
In other news, here comes the sun.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but if Ra's been dead for thousands of years in this version of events then who was at Abydos since that still apparently happened here?

Hell, figuring out how this version of Stargate: SG-1 differs from canon other than in the obvious ways (ponies; quadrupeds instead of bipeds being the norm in general; Equestria being their original homeworld with Earth itself having been yet another world of transplanted slaves with all the timeline butterflies that implies) would probably be a project in and of itself.

5612810 Ra's substitute on Abydos was Osiris. I've alluded to this briefly in a few places (he's mentioned in the first chapter as having been on Abydos). I didn't devote much time to establishing this, though, because it's only tangentially relevant to the plot.

And for the record, the only significant differences between this backstory and anything that happens in the first 4 seasons of SG-1 are Ra/Osiris, species differences, and the roles of Earth and Equestria in the evolutionary story. Even the Tok'Ra still exist (although they might be called something different).

That was a great ending to a great story.

nooooo its over :raritycry: sequel pleas :pinkiehappy:

:pinkiesad2: Sigh... A shame to see this story end. I would have loved to see what happens with Luna and Celestia from here on out. Still it was a good conclusion and better to leave the audience wanting more than leaving feeling dissatisfied. And you have written a story that I would love to see more of (don't feel any pressure to write more if this was all you intended).
