They say that Equestria is the prime example of what society is meant to be. Ponies, working hard and leading good lives. Good, honest folk who would like nothing more than to sit down with a cold beer after a long day of work, reminiscing over past experiences and basking in the nostalgia. If you were to walk through any Equestrian town, you’d be wading through a pool of diversity. Everypony is unique, from personality to their technicolor coats and cutie mark. It’s the ‘Equestrian Dream!’ but of course, there are no dreams without a few nightmares. When Trixie's 'Equestrian Dream' is shattered, and she herself cast away like filth, she thinks herself to be beyond saving. Upon meeting a socially awkward doctor who offers her shelter, things begin to change. She doesn't know it, but Fate isn't done with The Great and Powerful Trixie yet.

(Loosely based on Jethro Tull's album Aqualung. References to songs will be everywhere. Listening to said album is not required for full enjoyment, but is recommended.)

A cute little introduction to one of my few favorite characters, and you did her so well in my opinion! Now.....:trixieshiftright: Where shall things go from here?

Your approach to Trixie as she is unbroken yet accepting her fate and her own guilt is quite refreshing. Usually people choose one of the two characteristics. Broken Broom seems to be a bit creepy and desperate (the whole "maybe I can score with this homeless mare" thing) but he can turn out to be really nice stallion. I just hope he won't push Trixie too hard.

I was actually worried that you wouldn't continue the story, but this was definitely worth the wait. The interactions felt natural and Trixie's dishwashing dilema was simply hilarious! Keep up the good work!
PS: I want that shower bad :applecry:

I like the story. I think it has quite a bit of potential. Just remember: Don't rush yourself. If you rush, it'll be bad quality writing. So just do what you do and you'll be fine. You've earned a like and a favorite from me:twilightsmile:

Hm the kiss came kinda out of the blue. Sure it could be expected from Broken Broom, but to me it didn't really feel like a comforting gesture. Still nothing that would bother me enough to change my positive opinion of this story

Ah, I was worried about that :twilightsheepish:. I sort of kind of meant it as a spur of the moment thing, not placation, but that's probably my bad. Thank you for the imput, though! It helps a lot!

Now, I like the story. I really do. I liked how you were prolonging the romance. I just would've like you to keep it as platonic for another chapter or two. I rushed with my ship fic and it turned out pretty bad....so just another writer's thoughts. Keep up the great work!:heart:

I came for the Jethro Tull references and I wasn't disappointed. They were many and witty when they were used.

I stayed because this is a well spun yarn. Seriously. I'm almost bothered by how under appreciated this is (I say that often, but, I really mean it with your story.). This was a really, really, good introduction into a day in Trixie's life, her mental state. She has a nice mix of brash, level headed temper and hard earned humbleness. I like it.

I'll try and finish up the next two chapters tomorrow, but, in the meantime have a gold star thing, a thumbs up and just for the heck of it one of these little guys :moustache:

I have to agree, this was your best chapter ever!

Well that accelerated quickly... Very quickly... Scary quick. So quick it beat a jimmy jones guy on steroids thats in a NASCAR combined with a formula one, combined with a Hennessy.
Sorry for my rant you can move on now XD

Yeah, this was my first legitimate story, so it never was amazing. I've improved a lot from this, but I guess thats up to you to decide.

Great story!
Romance accelerated a little quickly, and there were a few mistakes here and there, but it flowed well and didn't seem forced and choppy. Right on!
Loved the Tull references! :trixieshiftright:
Always like to see good stories inspired by great bands here.

Feeling alone --
the doctor's up the road
salvation a la mode and
a cup of soup.
Trixie-lung my friend --
don't you start away uneasy
you poor old sod, you see, it's only me. :trixieshiftleft:
