A Metro 2033 crossover.
Seventeen years ago, Princess Twilight Sparkle took her last stand at the Crystal Empire against the Griffon invaders when the impossible happened: the Crystal Heart was destroyed.

The result was a cataclysmic burst of magic which made the surface uninhabitable, driving what remained of the pony race underground into the new Equestrian Metro system.

After years of new factions and bloodshed, Ponyville station has come under threat from a strange new species of mutated ponies: the Dark Ones.

Following her return, Apple Bloom has tasked Scootaloo's adopted daughter with telling the council of Canterlot of the dangers coming from the Everfree forest, before Ponyville and the rest of Ponykind falls prey to this new threat.

But the journey from Canterlot to Ponyville is not a short or safe one. Years of inhabitance in the Metro has changed ponies, so her journey will be anything but easy.

No longer is Equestria the utopia it once was.

I'm going to read this, remembering full well what the game and novel was, as the description you put down STRONGLY reminds me of metro's storyline with almost zero difference or changes made.

-Dark ones threatening a home station(ponyville), leading the protagonist to be sent to seek help from a distant station(Canterlot)

It's like you just renamed polis, artyom and his home station and added ponies.

Let's see what we got...

Right, so you got the rats, flamethrowers at the gates, rangers are the guards/ tunnel seekers...

All her life Dawn had wanted to see the skies of the past. To her, the concept of a vast expanse of blue was so abstract that it almost didn’t seem possible, the only way she’d ever believe it was if she saw it. The older pegasus often reminisced while on duty at the barricades about flying in the open sky, the feeling of the cool winds rushing through their feathers. When Dawn went flying in the confines of the tunnels it only felt damp and dirty.

Not unlike the protagonist of metro who had pictures of the old world plastered around his bunk because he daydreamed about it often.

There were things, giant circles which moved across the sky at the whims of the two Princesses.

'Demons' I assume...

Firearms for ponies had been developed in the first month of the war

Shit nigger that's some fast engineering.

How come the guns weren't designer more practically? Say, for example, they could be held in the mouth for better accuracy/ mobility due to them not requiring them to be held out on a hoof?

A utilitarian station and a deluded utopia.

Nazis and Communist reds i'm guessing?

Muzzle flashes cast sharp shadows against the tunnel as bullets flew towards the creature. It kept walking forwards with a low groan as bullets impacted its body. Just as the large, mounted machine gun started to fire, the Dark One let out a piercing screech and its horn lit up a sickly black.

2:16

was a Helsing, a pneumatic weapon which fired bolts, and on her back were two other weapons, a double-barrelled shotgun

I stand by my previous comment.

I can appreciate that you're trying to differentiate it, but from what i've read so far it's just metro with ponies.

Call me a wuss if you want, but I cried. :fluttercry:
1. Derpy is what broke my cool, and made me cry.
2. Dawn getting injured by Scoot, and AB...
I love this story, every bit of it. Please, please make the next chapter soon!

By the way, I forgot the game before I read the story for best affect.

2589246 I understand where you're coming from. As I said, the first three chapters are trying to establish the world above anything else, should start to diverge more from there.

2589345 Thanks mate, almost finished it.

A Metro fic with characters replaced by ponies?

No problem! I'm going to be here all the way from the beginning to the end, I will comment my thoughts on every chapter! :pinkiecrazy:

I have to ask will all the weapons be use or only like 2? becasue i would love to see the Tihar or the Bastard gun, i would love to see how twilight will say about the guy about that gun

Submachinegun, 5.45 cailber-It's got poor accuracy and overheats like hell-That's why they call it a "Bastard gun" hahah.

Hey man, where do you get the cover art from? Just curious.
